This one bedroom, one bath cottage was perfect for a couple. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom functional, the queen bed quite comfortable and the entire cottage was spotless. Even though the villa is small compared to others we have rented, the décor and ambience is lovely. There is just enough visual interest, local art, quality furnishings and upscale construction details to make the interior beyond basic and yet not overdone as to detract from the unbelievable views of Norman and Peter islands as well as the well cared for grounds. Milk Moon does not have a washer and dryer available nor a dishwasher. We typically hand wash most of our dishes in villas to save water but we did miss the convenience of a washer and dryer as it dictated we bring more clothes than we typically pack for St. John.
The pool is decked in native stone and extremely private. There is also an equally private outdoor shower that is a great alternative to the indoor bathroom. The balcony across the back of the house affords absolutely amazing views and the breezes are non-stop. On some mornings, the breeze was so strong we retreated to the dining table in the front garden which is a perfect breakfast spot. Milk moon shares a gate/driveway with another home occupied by locals above it however, we always felt as if we were the only ones on the island.
Catherine, the house manager, was extremely flexible with us as far as arrival and departure times. I cannot say enough about how well the house is maintained. Of all the homes we have rented on the island, Milk Moon is now our favorite and one that we feel a spiritual connection to. I am hopeful it will stay on the rental market (it is up for sale presently) because I have every intention of returning every year possible in the future.
