I'm Still Alive

Hi there,

So - we made it through the first holiday weekend of the summer season here in NJ. We had a lot of people come in the shop that visit the Virgin Islands. Today the weather was really bad and we closed early, but there was a family in and a little boy with a St. John shirt on - I inquired when they were there (a few weeks ago), and they told me they spent most of their days at the pool (the Westin), only rented a car one day, and didn't go to any beaches!!! Can you believe it?

Also met someone who spends a week a year, minimun, at Hakuna Matata. And I saw a friend who usually sails out of Tortola for a week each winter.

Once we get a schedule down I will be posting here more often, I hope (another promise to break!). I am still waiting on a couple of friends to kick in with some posts... they know who they are.

Anthony: Glad you are having customers despite the NJ weather. I'm not comfortable posting on this board because I don't know how to start a new subject. We are within 5 weeks of our USVI trek, and all 10 of us are looking forward to it. It seems each couple has (or is having) personal trauma: A son's June wedding, another son's buying a home, a mother's death, a father's major surgery, other trips, unexpected expenses, illnesses, and the usual work grind. So, we are eagerly planning to do lots of NOTHING when reach the USVI. One couple lives in SC, another in TX, and the rest of us in LA. There is a June high school reunion where we'll all convene to plot and scheme our last minute plans for July. Planning is always half the fun. Sorry you won't be there. I still owe you for your generosity. There will be some forum-folks down there who I'm looking forward to meeting.... along with seeing Ronnie and MsChuy again. Best wishes for a good season. Take care, JSS3.

Glad to hear that your season is off to a good start. We're just 2-3 hrs. away from ya here in Mass., so I kinda have an idea of the dismal weather you have had. Sooooo, exactly what kind of shop do you have in NJ? You may have mentioned it before, but due to fading grey matter, I forgot.
Our return to STJ, isn't untill 11/05, so we vacation vicariously through your forum. Thanks for the great service you provide to all of us wanna be theres. As always..Peace---Howie
