Sunday, 11/29

Woke up to showers and rainbows. Only a sprinkle on our balcony but we watched rain showers moving across the water and over St. Thomas for awhile. Lots of vibrant rainbows.

Three of us took off early for the beach. The rest of the gang was sleeping in. We headed for Hawksnest. The place was empty and so pretty.

The snorkeling was not as good as Little Maho but the reef being so close to the beach was nice for Cathy who is not as comfortable in the water.

This beach is quite narrow and has good shade opportunities. There are facilities there but we never checked them out. There were groups gathering at the picnic tables when we left.

Cathy drove for the first, and last, time - from the beach to Dolphin Market where we had orders to pick up cigars. We got a call with a lunch order after we left Dolphin so we stopped at Starfish and picked up an assortment of sandwiches to take home to the pool slugs. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of lounging at the villa. Late afternoon we schemed up a dinner plan and deployed a party to pick up groceries.

A few of us headed into town before dinner to poke around a little bit. We parked in what we thought was a 30 minute parking spot - found out from a cab driver when we returned that we had parked at a taxi stand but he was very nice about it. Stopped at St. John Spice for Sunny Caribee Bloody Mary Magic (we were running low on the supply we picked up in Antigua last year and were starting to twitch) and some spice rub. Wandered around, stopped at The Beach Bar and met some forumites. Found out that the woman who took our picture at Skinny’s the day before was Brenda from the board! Headed back up the hill to embark on dinner.

Arriving back at Vistaero, a maintenance guy was there trying to fix the hot tub. We had reported it not working the previous day (of course, we were unaware that it hadn’t been working for some time). He didn’t have any luck but said he would return the next day.

Dinner that night - Norm made artichokes steamed in garlic and white zinfandel (blasphemy to those of us who enjoy wine but that‘s what the recipe called for). No one knew what to do with the rest of the big bottle of white zin that was purchased so Manley decided to have a glass.

I’ve started divorce proceedings! The main course was grilled tuna ($20/lb), salad, sweet potato, chutney (also purchased at St. John Spice) and crusty bread. All wonderful. Yummy lemon and orange glazed cake for dessert (gotta love Starfish).

Another fantastic pic, I'd frame this one.
