Villa Serenity 04/14/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Our direct flight out of Boston to St. Thomas was on time. Since we had 6 adults in our party, plus one toddler, I had pre-arranged a taxi service with Dynamic Tours in order to go non-stop to the Red Hook ferry. Freddie, met us, as promised, and we were able to make the 2 p.m. ferry. We picked up our cars at the ferry dock in Cruz Bay and headed to the Starfish Market to pick up some groceries -- then off to Villa Serenity.

If Francis Bay is one of your favorite beaches -- Villa Serenity is the ideal location for you. Not only is it a short 4 minute walk to the beach, it is also very secluded with only two neighbors --

another villa and a cottage -- but we couldn't even see them from our villa.

There was plenty of room for the six of us and an active toddler. Two bedrooms on the main level on opposite ends of the house, and two bedrooms downstairs -- each bedroom had their own bathroom. The living room, dining area and kitchen are in one open space with mahogany vaulted ceilings. There is a lovely deck which runs the length of the house with a view of Leinster Bay.

The weather was very windy during our stay with scattered showers, however we did get several periods of sunshine. The wind kept the bugs away, so that was a real plus!

We went to the following restaurants:

Skinny Legs:

Ate there twice for dinner -- burgers were great and I enjoyed the GTO -- a grilled sandwich with tomato, onion and cheese on rye bread. This place is ideal if you want a quick dinner (or lunch) and don't want to spend a lot of money.

Morgan's Mango:

We had a great time there. I had the cocunut shrimp which was excellent and some of the others had tuna with different sauces. This was by far the best meal during our stay.

Shipwreck Landing:

Had dinner there the last night. It was o.k., but not our favorite.

Didn't want to leave Villa Serenity -- we had such a good time! However, we packed our bags, dropped off the rental cars and took the ferry to Red Hook. Freddie from Dyanmic Tours was waiting for us and we were off to the airport.
