Estate Lindholm 04/01/03
Reviewers Rating: Excellent

There is a very good reason that this property and its gracious hosts consistently receive a 4 star rating. Estate Lindholm is a beautiful, charming, intimate, friendly, geographically desirable Inn with two of the nicest, most helpful owners I have ever met. Bryon appeared out of nowhere to welcome us with "You must be the Hampton's" (before we had even parked our jeep) and was kind enough to help us with our bags. That was just the beginning. His wife Lauren gave us tons of helpful information about restaurants, beaches, baby-sitters, and fun things to see and do. Lauren and Brion couldn’t have been nicer to our son (they have wonderful children of their own) and Brion actually got into our jeep one day to help us as we planned our boating itinerary. For those who are childless or traveling sans children: not to worry. Only two of the rooms (of the 10 or 11) are set up for families and they are located next to each other in a separate building.

We had breakfast with the sugarbirds and hummingbirds, among beautiful plants and flowers, overlooking Cruz Bay Harbor. Our room was perfect for the three of us - a loft with twin beds for our son, a queen sized sleigh bed for us, and a lovely deck with a wrought iron table and 4 chairs, and an additional large wooden chair, a lovely spot for coffee in the morning. Breakfast is a wonderful assortment of bagels, muffins, fruit, juice, cereals, waffles, and French toast, and is included in the rate. The rooms contain a small refrigerator and microwave, along with an assortment of plates, glasses and bowls. There is also a gas grill by the pool /“ perfect for an evening of dining “inn/” either by the pool or on our deck. It was refreshing being able to spend a full day exploring and snorkeling, and then return “home/” with a take out dinner or food for the grill. It really enabled us to spend our time doing the things that were most important to us /“ swimming, snorkeling and exploring, without rushing off the beach to get showered for dinner. (In the childless days, dinner at 9 or 10 p.m. was a not a problem. Now, it would be lunacy)

Estate Lindholm combined the best of all worlds: Gracious, helpful and knowledgeable hosts who were more than happy to share their vast knowledge of the island, the chance to meet and socialize with other guests, and a beautiful, intimate setting, that felt very safe and comfortable.

My advice: Book early and enjoy every moment in paradise.
