We just returned from a stay at the villa Idyllic. It is repesented by Vacation Vistas. Idyllic is located just out past the Westin off of Great Cruz bay Rd, on a road called Laughing Gull Lane. We chose this villa because we did not want to rent a car for our stay this time. We had no problem having taxis come pick us up or bring us back.
The house is a 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath two level home. It actually looks better in person than the web-site pictures. The living room was beautifully furnished, with sliding doors that disappear when pushed all the way back, so you had a fabulous unobstructed view of Great Cruz Bay without getting off the couch. All the furniture amazingly had rounded edges, so it was already baby-proofed! The covered deck spanned the entire front of the house in front of the living room, with ceiling fans, so even outside you could read or just gaze and not be too hot. The deck had a beautiful teak table seating 6, although large enough for more, and there are also lounge chairs and a couch on the deck for relaxing. The kitchen was a joy--large w/all new granite counter tops, deep sink, side-by-side fridge, all the amenities you would need and more. There was a lovely welcome basket in the fridge w/caribe beers, sodas, cheese, fruit, turkey, crackers, even Hummus! There was ice cream and bacardi mixers left in the freezer. Mayo, mustard, butter, liquor (!), spices, coffee w/filters--just everything!
2 of the bedrooms are on the living room level, equal in size w/their own baths. One bedroom opens to the side deck with a hammock and lounge chairs. The master bedroom is down a flight of stairs, and is like it's own little apartment w/ deck, tv, sitting area with couch, fridge and microwave. As we were travelling with a baby, we had her in a pack and play in our suite, but still had our own space. There is a washer/dryer in the master suite as well. The pool area was large enough, with chairs, loungers, 2 four seat dining tables, a half bath, cabana w/boom box. It was easy to leave lotions and towels and pool stuff in there so you don't have to drag it all out and back in each day. There weren't however any pool floats like in the pictures.
The phone did go out on the second day there and never did come back on, so using the cell phone to call a taxi each day will be a fortune on the bill in a few weeks I'm sure. We loved Idyllic, and would not hesitate to rent it again.
