virgin islands on line : st. john : hotel & villa reviews

Two of us stayed in the villa in December 2004.

There are three bedrooms, two with French doors leading onto the veranda (and what a veranda, but more on that later). The third bedroom is more for kids, with two twins not much of a view (though it does have a seperate entrance from the porch for privacy if needed). It's also attached to the master bath. Good for parents if they want to be close to their kids.

We stayed in the master bedroom (king). The bed was extremely comfortable, and the morning sunrise was awesome...came right through the French doors (there are blinds there should you NOT want to see the sun!). The second bedroom is a little smaller, has a queen and would get the same view as the master. The A/C in our bedroom worked very well.

The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and more. Gas stove which was nice, and this villa has the best refrigerator we've ever encountered on St John. No sweating, lots of ice! There were plenty of spices and wraps and baggies, etc.

The living area is a nice set up. Cable tv, cd player, dvd player and surround sound. There is also a dining table in the living area, but we only used the table outside on the veranda. What a view!

The veranda wraps almost all the way around the house. In the back the hot tub is positioned to watch the sunset. It's pretty private, but not clothing optional. You can see into the patio area of the villa next door. But it didn't bother us.

The iguanas are very plentiful here. As soon as they heard us on the veranda they would come below (not on the porch!) and wait to be fed (which of course we did). It was cool to watch them climb the cliffs below us. I didn't know they were vertical climbers!

The view at night was stars and cruise ships leaving St. Thomas and the sound was crashing waves at the base of the cliffs and the songs of tree frogs. It's a beautiful house and we would stay here again. The only complaint I have would be that speakers are needed outside by the hot tub. That's not much of a complaint!
