Villa Ventosa 01/07/2005
Reviewers Rating: Stars Excellent
We recently stayed at this beautiful Villa in the Coral Bay/Calabash Boom area.
Well, the pictures from the Website does not even depict the reality of the Villa. Just amazing. Tommy Bahama decore thru-out, State of the art kitchen with mahogany cabinets. Granite counter tops, terra cotta floors -The deck below had teak chairs, a jacuzzi and pool. The villa provides Beach Towels, Cooler, Beach Chairs and floats. The pool area has an outdoor shower to rinse off and a sink alongside the huge outdoor built in grill with side burners. The two additional bedrooms are located down stairs. The upstairs deck again had beautiful teak furniture and table. The Master bedroom is off completely outside thru another entrance. Again, the decor is amazing. It had its own private deck/balcony as well, walk in closet, safe and even an outdoor Garden Shower. The main living area had very comfortable couches, cable TV of course DVD player as well as VHS, bathroom, laundry room and dining room also on the main floor. The kitchen too had a desk for those who may want to use their computer while on vacation. The sounds of nature and the breeze coming into our villa was incredible along with smell of sea water in the air. Breathless! What amazing views.

Villa Ventosa faces East. Right below is Johnson's bay and Lagoon Point. It also faces the East End of St. John. Beyond that are the British Virgin Islands - Tortola on the furthest northern part, next to it is Virgin Gorda, off in the distance is Gordon Peak - then the Baths of Virgin Gorda. The next series of larger islands are Cooper, Salt, Peter and Normal Islands. And, sprinkeled in between these are smaller islands/land masses - Fallen Jerusalem, The Indians, Carrot and Flanagan's. The waters behind East End are called the Sir Frances Drake Channels. Loved watching the sailboats - tons of them every day. Off to the distance, you can see some smaller cruiseline ships entering Tortola. Then, finally the island to the farthest right of our view is Leduck which is part of USVI and beyond that is the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Simply amazing.

Getting up to the villa consists of a dirt, rocky road that has many turns as your going up. A little scary your 1st time but no problems once you get used to it. Once you arrive to the driveway, there is a steep downward drive about a good 15-20 feet drop down. A 4x4 vehicle is needed to get up the road and actually up the driveway itself. This would not stop me though from renting this villa again. The only thing that I would have liked better is the positioning of the pool. Since we stayed here in December, the sun is not as high up, so the pool did not get much afternoon sun. The pool was always freezing cold. We never swam in the pool because of it. Perhaps in the summer the pool is warmer.

We rented this villa thru Windspree Vacations.
