Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Cinnamon Tarn is a two bedroom, two 1/2 bath home with sweeping North Shore views. Most of the house is on one level. On entering the home you walk into a large open great room and kitchen. This space then opens to a length-of-house breezeway which is completely screened with sliders that open to the deck and views.
Two equal bedrooms are located at either end of the breezeway. Each bedroom has ocean views and a connecting full bath with large tall stone showers. There is a half bath under the stairs to the second level.
The second level consists of a third, smaller bedroom/study with a day bed and desk, and a deck with views of Cinnamon Bay. Note that there is no door on this room, so it would be good for kids or a single person, but not for a couple.
The adequately equipped kitchen has newer appliances (including a dishwasher), a wrap around counter with bar stool seating, and an extra beverage fridge. Laundry is located off the kitchen. A table with seating for four is off the kitchen on the breezeway.
A grill, an additional table and loungers are on the outside deck, which features a huge hot tub (seems big enough for 10 people!). Ceiling fans throughout the house create wonderful breezes.
All windows are screened, and also have louvers so you can leave the windows open safely while sleeping. The screens and screen doors throughout the house are in great condition and tight.
The house is well cared for both inside and out, with casual and comfortable d飯r featuring beautiful island prints and sculptures. Some of the furniture has been reupholstered since our stay here last year, and there is a new refrigerator with water filtration system.
The house has plenty of books, board games, and cds for entertainment. Outside, mature plantings fill the property, but do not obscure the views at all.
The gated driveway is long, and leads to a circular parking area, which makes for easy parking and getting in and out. A beautiful fish pond with lush plantings is in the center of the roundabout.
Cinnamon Tarn is exceptionally privateóno other houses can see you. There is no air conditioning, but the breezes and ceiling fans made the house very comfortable. At night, it was cool enough that we had to sleep with a comforter on the bed!
One note for cautious drivers: Cinnamon Tarn is located off the John Head Road, which is unpaved and bumpy.
I would absolutely recommend this house and hope to stay there again next year.
