Palm Hill Villa 06/04/2009
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
The villa consists of two separate buildings. One has the kitchen, great room, dining area and laundry room. There is also a bathroom in this building but the entrance to it is outside. There is no inside entrance which I thought was a little strange but it worked well when you had to use it after being in the pool. It was really no problem.
The other building has 3 bedrooms & 3 baths. One of the bedrooms has a nice balcony too. All three have great views.

The web site has very accurate picures.

The good:
1-the view is awesome! You have a view to St Thomas with the sunset.
2-the layout of the villa gave each of us privacy in our bedrooms.
3-the ac in the upper bedroom and the lower bedroom is really good. In fact it can be frigid in the lower bedroom which is hard to find on STJ. The couple in that bedroom loved it because they are hot natured anyway. My husband and I had the master bed room which had a cool temperature but I would like to have had it a little bit cooler. I still slept well. I will explain later why it was warmer.
4-the kitchen has a great layout and has everything you need.
5-the covered porch off of the main building has 3 ceiling fans which really stir up a breeze. It would have been miserable if we hadn't had them.
6-it was very quiet there.
7-there are villas close on either side but you really can't see each other because of the landscaping. We only heard voices one night. We had the stereo turned up in the afternoons while we were in the pool. Hope we didn't disturb anyone!
8-there are lots of iguana's in the trees below the villa every morning. They were fun to watch.

The so so (not bad):
1-the main building doesn't have ac. In the afternoons it was really hot in there. We rarely used the oven because of the heat. This really didn't bother most of us except for one person who is hot natured. After the sun went down it started to cool down and was comfortable to play cards or watch TV.
2-the steps from the road to the villa are long. I think there are 46 of them. We had someone in our group with a bad knee so that affected her. The rest of us did fine. Most of the time we only went up and down once a day anyway.
3-the master bedroom doesn't have any curtains on the windows. If you walk too close to the windows someone near the pool can look up and see you. Also, the sun comes in the windows in the afternoon and heats up the room which makes it a little warmer than the other two bedrooms. The tiles on the floor are even warm in places. But this really didn't bother us. We are early risers so the light in the mornings was fine and I just stayed away from the window while dressing. Not a big deal.

Overall we were really please with the villa and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
