After a week of staying down the street with a larger group, my husband and I shifted to Evening Star for the last three nights of our stay. Our mission was to stay somewhere CHEAP, clean and with A/C for sleeping for those last few nights. Evening Star fit all of those requirements, so we were not disappointed.
The description on the website (go to www.starvillas.com) is accurate almost 100%, so it wasn't misleading. The only part that puzzles me is the statement that says: "Sit back and relax on your private deck and that includes a gas grill and lounge chairs." I had no idea that we had a private deck with a gas grill and deck chairs. Hmmm??
The sleeping area was cute, the closet storage area was cute and large, actually. The A/C worked well enough. The fridge is not full size but it worked for us for 2 days. We ended up eating out because we didn't know about that grill, but it was only a couple of nights so it didn't break our bank too much.
Evening Star was not a place to hang out and unwind after a day at the beach or after a night out. We definitely don't need a lot of bells and whistles when we go to STJ, but while staying here I realized that I do like to have a porch/deck/patio as a place to hang out at the end of the day. And unless that private deck they mention would have made that happen (where was it?), I missed having a place like that.
The unit was pretty claustrophobic (small and dark) and should really only be used as a place to sleep and shower. Again, we weren't expecting anything different, but the 3 nights we spent there was about my limit (and I think they have a 3-night minimum there anyway).
We have stayed at other Star Villas units in the past and will again, but probably not here for any length of time.
