We stayed at Cruz Views Unit 1 from 10/24-11/1/09.
Curtis, our greeter, was friendly and showed us around the place. It's pretty self-explanatory- nothing fancy here.
You park up at the top of the hill for this unit, not down in the parking lot. It's an easy walk to the car. I stood out on the road as my husband pulled out each time, to let him know nothing was coming.
As you come through the gate, you'll be amazed by the view! It's just gorgeous and every sunset seems prettier than the last. The patio has two loungers with fabric seats, and a small table and chairs. I'd say it's semi-private: those driving by couldn't see you but walkers probably could. There are backpack style beach chairs, a cooler, and various beach toys on the deck. We also left a little Weber grill, in case you prefer charcoal grilling. We couldn't get the gas grill to work when we tried. When we told Sunny the caretaker about it, he fired it right up, though, so it must have been our error. The pool area is beautiful. I wish there was some shade there late in the day. I wish there was some shade anywhere, late in the day. It was hotter than heck on the patio or in the livingroom, from 4PM-dark.
The living room is comfortable; dated and not fancy but comfortable. Lighting could be improved.
The kitchen had everything we needed for the week, except a crab cracker, which we bought and left for future guests. There was salt and pepper there, dishsoap, and paper towels, so stop at the condo before you shop.
There was sunscreen and some other products left in the bathroom, as well as a blow-dryer. Towels were comfy on sunned skin. There were plenty of beach towels. In the linen closet are books and games.
The bedroom was air conditioned and contained a comfortable but squeaky bed, a small chest of drawers and night stands. There is a safe in the closet, along with an iron and ironing board. The curtains closed up completely, so it would be possible to sleep in.
Upstairs were two twin beds and maybe a chest of drawers (we didn't use the upstairs).
Make sure you check in the tv stand, for the first condo journal...it's pretty interesting evening reading!
Oh, and there's a cat named Sam. He is VERY affectionate but did claw me when I tried to get him off my lap. He's thin and hungry. Be a sport and buy the poor thing some cat food, okay?
