Just returned from a week-long (11/8-11/15) stay at Island Time Villa in the Devers Bay/Chocolate hole area. This was our second trip to STJ, first time going the Villa route. We were a little overwhelmed with all the villa choices. Really liked this one online, but could never find a good review. RickG was really helpful, having done a walk through of it. With that being said. We thought the villa is fantastic. Incredible views of the Caribbean Sea, St Thomas, Dog Island, Little St James, Great St James, etc. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, offered great privacy from neighbors, however there are some villas on the hill above to the left that have a full view of the deck and pool area if they had a telescope. So nudists might not feel that private, but it didnít seem that they were occupied last week.
We traveled with another couple. We stayed in the detached cabana, they stayed in the room attached to the kitchen living area. Both bedrooms were equally sized. Had similar views, Beds are queen size. Never felt like we were too close, had enough privacy. The detached cabana has an outside garden shower, in addition to the interior bathroom shower. Itís shared in the common front courtyard. Great location to shower off if youíve been at the beaches all day. Both bathrooms were spacious. Had double sinks, large showers.
The Kitchen living area was just right for 2 couples. gas range/ other appliances worked great for us, seemed to have plenty of pots and pans, there is a washer/dryer in the bedroom suite in the main building, nice flat screen television, wi-fi internet (seemed to work off and on). We had great cell coverage there, line of site to STT. Weíre ATT customers and had full bars of 3g coverage.
Outside spaces are well thought out. The detached cabana has a little covered deck with sitting area outside the room. There is also another seating area on a covered patio outside the main house. There is an outside dining area for 4 between the cabana and the main house. Covered with a portico and screened from the front courtyard. In the photos on the villa rental site, it shows a built in hot tub near the dining area. With the addition of the pool, they turned that into a deck space with wide stairs down to the pool area. The hot tub now sits on the deck level of the pool, it's not built in, appeared to be new, has great views. Pool was perfect size for cooling off, relaxing, had pool floats, built in seating. There is also a front courtyard with a nice bbq grill. Driveway was paved and perfect for one car, might work for 2 cars if couples have their own.
We really enjoyed the sunsets from the deck/hot tub/pool, In fact, we cooked in the villa almost every night to take advantage of that feature. Great to watch the cruise ships come and go from STT. Storms out over the ocean. Perfect location, close to town, close grocery stores. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Villa has everything you need and is well maintained. Decorated in a nice comfortable Caribbean style. Might not be a good choice for family with children since the bedrooms are detached. (or could be awesome, if you want to feel like you are away from them). Perfect for a couple or 2 couples that travel well together.
If anyone has any specific questions, PM me. I took a bunch of photos.
