We researched this site and others quite extensively before our recent stay on St. Thomas in our search for places to eat during our visit.
As soon as we walked in we felt at home. The bartender cheerily greeted us and offered us a choice of seating, said she'd be right with us and then Anna poked her head out of the kitchen to say good evening. We opted for the airconditioning in the "Cosy" and it was a wonderful room. One other couple was in there and we got chatting. They're frequent business visitors and said that one of the reasons they always come back is that everything is always consistently good because Anna's the only person in the kitchen.
Other people started to come in the bar area started to fill up too and we had a wonderful evening. We started off with a green salad and a "Mandarin" salad, then I had the beef stroeganoff and TK had the Thursday roast duck special. Finished up with apple pie and cinnammon icecream which we shared. Fantastic food, great service, HOT food served quickly, nothing silly fancy (like the 4oz grouper fillet served on a huge plate with tendrils of spiralled leaves and artfully placed slivers of veggies and five sauces which was lovely to look at and good to taste but for which we paid $35.00, etc,!)
TK's probably right as he leans over my shoulder and says that I'm rambling on.
It's obvious why Anna gets the great reviews that she gets She obviously cares very much about food and about people - oh and also about animals. We couldn't help but make a donation to her anti kitty litter kitty - and we also took with us information on the Humane Society.
Wish we had gone to the Toad and Tart earlier on during our visit. We would have gone there more than once. But we will be back!
TK here - yes it was very good. And the whole evening only cost me $90 including a 20 percent tip.
Jayde back again. And there ends our review. Thanks, Anna!
