Sogos 05/30/2009
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Sogos has wonderful authentic West Indian food. It is a small, very casual place operated by a very nice lady from Dominica. The front of the building is rather non-descript, but don't let that stop you. We got carry-out from there twice during our trip in May because we wanted to eat on our villa deck and enjoy the views.
My husband always gets the curried goat and loves it. The West Indian curry sauce is really good. My friend got the shrimp creole. It was so tasty that we both got it when we went the second time. We also got curried kingfish (great - very 'meaty' type of fish). The stewed chicken (very good) was for my friend's husband who is not as adventurous. Each entree came with multiple side dishes: steamed vegetables, fungi which is cornmeal and okra (delicious!), rice and peas, plantain, and johnny cake. Its tons of food. Very reasonable prices at lunchtime. Try her tropical juices too. I highly recommend Sogos.
