Went to the first night of the season and it was great. Only had the stir fry w/ beef tips & sesame ginger but it was wonderful. Not a huge veggie person but just the right amount of those and tender & tasty beef. Choice of rice or noodle of the week. Full plate with nice balance of ingredients.
Simple menu: a few apps which I don't recall exactly, simple green type salad and two other items. For main dishes the stir fry for $11 add a protein for around $6-7. Beef, chicken, shrimp & I think Tofu or go combo. A duck dish, flank steak dish and one other in the $17-19 range looked great from afar. Moderate pricing for really delicious food!
Tamarind is a more casual setting but seems like you're getting the same interesting food & execution as when Mathayom caters an event. Looks like it will be very popular so best go a little early or a little late. Wednesday nights there are now on my short list of places to go and to send (w/o hesitation) guests & visiting relatives, which is the best recommendation I can give.
