The St. George Village Botanical Garden of St. Croix is located on a sixteen acre site just off the Queen Mary Highway. The botanical collections, including over 1,500 native and exotic species and varieties, are established in and around the restored buildings and stabilized ruins of a 19th century Danish sugar cane plantation.
St. George offers island visitors and residents a unique blend of St. Croix's botanical, historical, and cultural heritage. The Museum Store is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and offers a variety of tropical whimsies. The retail nursery is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and for special sales.
This is beautiful spot to spend a couple of hours relaxing and exploring and suitable for children.

We were there a few years ago and had a very nice time, the kids really enjoyed it. It was hot and extremely dry, I think there was a bit of a drought that year, but the gardens are very peaceful and a nice quiet escape. They also have some interesting exhibits.
