We've returned from our wonderful trip to St. Thomas and the Crystal Palace B&B! Though we were in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas for a one night stopover, our stay at the Crystal Palace was well worth it. The B&B is the ancenstral home of Ronnie, our host. His place has a wonderful European charm and nostalgic history that give it meaning beyond any commercial chain hotel. It's on a hill overlooking the harbor where all the cruise ships come in. You can sit on the terrace sipping a drink from the honor bar where the first drink is on Ronnie.
Ronnie picked us up at the airport and told us about the city on the way to the B&B. He knows just about everyone on the island and where to go. He arranged for us to have a taxi tour with Randy who drove us to several of the sites around St. Thomas. He also has a cousin who owns Cuzzin's restaurant where we had a tasty Caribbean dinner.
The rooms have A/C, are clean, cozy and have an island flair. We opted for the private bath which was worth it. We watched the lights on the harbor at night from the balcony with tall palms waving in the breeze.
In the morning, Ronnie had a great breakfast for us to choose what we liked. We will definitely return to the Crystal Palace for his wonderful island hospitality in a historic setting!
