We just got back from a family trip to St. Thomas where we all stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay resort. We went for my nephews wedding and were all assured upgrade luxury rooms but were given very poor rooms. My room reeked of mold and mildew to the point I got an instant migrane from the smell. I had to demand that they move me for allergies. With the exception of maybe 4 employees, we found them all to be rude and unhelpful. The bartenders were the worst. In a resort vacation area, you would expect that the bartenders would be the most fun and keep the party atmosphere going. Not in this case. They made sure you felt like you were a total inconvience. But there was no customer service at any level at the resort. That was a huge disappointment for us. For the price you pay per person, all 18 of us felt very, very unwelcome. The employees would actually stand there and glare at us in a most uncomfortable setting. While waiting in the lobby at the hotel, I heard the front desk and management yell at a couple of people on the phone and actually hung up on them. We got brochures from the hotel not to tip the employees as it was all included in our price and they pay the employees accordingly. I think they need to tell the employees that. The pool and grounds are nice. The beach is very small and rocky. The other beaches at the other hotels are much much nicer. Would I stay there again? Not on your life. Someone needs to teach this resort about customer service. It is completely non-existant. Thank goodness we all agreed to not let these strangers effect our excitement and our trip.
