Just returned from a week's stay at Morgan Point Villa. It is an older, but very well maintained property overlooking Great Cruz Bay. The views are fantastic from the very large covered deck with 2 large tables (seating 8 total) and 2 lounge chairs. The deck furniture was very nice and ceiling fans kept the air well circulated while sitting outside. The villa has 3 bedrooms... 2 of which overlook the bay and the 3rd has a view of the pool. The 2 overlooking the bay have ensuite bathrooms with one having A/C and a large stone shower.
Speaking of A/C, the whole villa has it... the great room and all bedrooms are air conditioned. The great room is comfortably furnished and has great views. There are large sliding doors that open up to the deck area and another set of sliding doors that open to a patio/BBQ area in the rear of the property. There is a hot tub located in this area as well.
The galley style kitchen has been recently renovated and has concreted counter tops and new stainless appliances. The kitchen is small but very functional and nicely equipped. There is a door leading from the kitchen to the deck which was very convenient. Another nice feature was the carport to park the jeep under and a nice area to store the beach chairs and rinse all your gear at the end of the day. In the laundry room/storage area, there were plenty of beach toys... coolers of various sizes, etc.
The pool area is accessed through a "garden gate" about 10 paces down the driveway from the back door. It is a "wally pool" with a nice deck built around it with lot's of tropical foliage and has views of the bay through the trees. It was very private. There are several "resident" iguanas living in the trees surrounding the property and the hummingbirds and bananaquits were abundant.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great... 3 minutes to St. John Market and 5 to Cruz Bay. We have stayed at other villas on the island, some quite a bit more expensive. However, my wife made comment that this one just felt "right"... just like home.
