I actually had a whole correspondence set up with Way2Old (Randy), as he went on a dream trip to French Polynesia and he was so helpfull sending his research, notes and travel reports, to me. We stayed on Grand Cayman in Rum Point a few years a go. We stayed at a beach front cottage called Gemini South. Here is the link to it (http://www.islanddreamvacation.com/home.html ). that is really a cute place! Cayman Kai is a beautifull area by the way. We stayed at the North Pointe condo's, ht...

I'm leaning toward the Cayman Islands for the safety and snorkeling but it seems like a pain to get to from Boston. Not many options. Does anyone have any opinions about this? Also, do all the beaches have a resort or hotel on them or are there smaller, quieter beaches to explore? Thanks again! not...

If ya love the laid back, non built up life of STJ you WILL NOT like Grand Cayman. It's one hotel after the other, with modern souvenier shops, American fast food, traffic lights, and 4 to 6 cruise ships at a time. It reminded me of Miami Beach, too small, too American and very crowded. Jan (aka Ch...

grand Cayman has really great snorkeling from the beaches. The 7 miles beach area is very busy and commericalized. We stayed on the other part, near Rum Point. Its a very quiet and beautifull part of Grand Cayman. Hurricane Ivan did a lot of damage, but they seem to be back on track. I have been che...

Ina - Ask Caribbean Villas about Bayview. By the way... Lysa might not have such a bad idea about the car. They have their own rental fleet. Unfortunately Coral Bay is not an option. Though we ended up there quite a lot last time I was there, he keeps thinking it's too far away from everythi...

Cancel?!! Don't cancel just cuz the view might be different. Ask for a discount but DON'T cancel!!! It's a magical island even if you stay in a studio apartment for the duration. Did you guys rent a car? Ask the agancy to pay for a car rental! Honestly, if you see St John the right way i.e. explori...

It was SeaWatch. There has been some more communication, it's now not entirely clear to me who screwed up, CV or the owners or both. The story is vague. Somebody did scre up though. Big time. Anyway, CV is trying to find us another villa. Problem is, the time frame (30th december - 14 january), the ...

Re: I can relate
Ina, Your pics of you and all of the gear you lugged cracked me up and brought back alot of memories. Thanks for the laughs, nothintolose :D yeah I'm the lugger...

he paid the deposit and also had the contract. They did offer a different one, but not within the parameters of our selection. But the point of my question is: can they do this? so that means that if you have a villa booked (often way in advance) and the owners suddenly decide they want to stay ther...
