GreyhoundMom: You were asking for first names: Scott and Kathleen We're on Tortola this trip but will catch the Ferry over for the Beach Bar gathering. The only downside is I was looking at the Ferry schedule and didn't see any trips back to Tortola past 6:00 PM or so. PIA or StJohnRUTH: are there a...

Phil: I'd like to clarify my comments about crime on STX. When we were walking the beach and crossed the no tresspassing area and ran into the Rasta with the gun it was not as threatening as I may have made it sound (makes a good story though). I suspect there were probably drugs at the house,or jus...

pmlykens: We've been to STJ 6 or 7 times now and STX 3 times. We much prefer St. John. ST. Croix is not as crowded and hectic as ST. Thomas, but it just doesn't have the same atmoshpere as St. John. In addition the beaches are not as white and not nearly as wide as those on STJ. The water is beautif...

Anthony: I've used Caribbean Days exclusively the last few years. I wouldn't consider using another agency at this point. We rented Sea Stone on St. John from them last year although Viva was the on Island representative. I've also used them on Tortola and St. Martin. Customer service is excellent. ...

Bongo Bongo looks very nice. However if you'd like something closer to the water take a look at Sea Stone. We rented it last year and it was very nice. Two equal masters at opposite ends of the house. Sits up on a cliff with endless views. The entire house has a/c. We are also looking at Latitude fo...

My forum name has to do with a couple of vacations we had on St. John. On the first trip we rented a power boat for the day with some friends to visit the BVIs. Someone had to register as Captain and that ended up being me. I proudly displayed the Nauti Nymph receipt with Captain Scott on it in our ...

Susan: I've taken the Ferry from STJ to Tortola only once, seems like it was about 45 minutes, but I have vacationed on both a number of times. While we love Tortola's laid back atmoshpere it does not compare to STJ in sheer beauty. If it were me I'd take a day trip to the baths on Virgin Gorda befo...

Thanks for the feedback on the house. I think the surf noise would be perfect for us but I have some other concerns about the house. We're going to keep looking for now.

Captain Kirk: Trust your first mate on this one. Check out Sea Stone at Vivacations.com. 2 bedrooms well separated for privacy, nice pool, A/C in the entire house and a killer location right on the cliff in the area just past Great Cruz but not quite to Chocolate Hole. Stayed there this year and lov...

Villa Info - Maison Miele

Getting ready to book the next trip, unfortunately far into the future. We're thinking about Maison Miele, looks like a great location but it doesn't have a/c and it doesn't appear to have anywhere to sit in the shade on the ocean side of the house. Has anyone stayed here or have any info? Our other...

We've used Lisa at Vacation Vistas several times and I think she did a fine job. When we rented Opar from her several times we found the bed too soft and she took care of the problam for us. Another time I had a ring made for my wife and shipped the box down in advance to give to her for our anniver...
