HISTORY 101 For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version: Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two m...

We are at a villa on the North Shore just above Dennis Bay. The earthquake was kind of spooky as we were still in bed and it shook the place pretty good. We have never experienced one before so it was kinda scary. We survived Hurricane Ike in Houston, now an earthquake. Just got back from Cruz Bay a...

We are about 70 miles from the coast about a mile from Cypressgirl. We are all hunkered down with family that evacuated from a low lying coastal area. They are predicting 90-95 MPH winds even this far from the coast. We are supposed to be leaving for St. John on October 8th so we are sure hoping Ike...

We stayed at The Buccaneer three or four years ago and played some golf. The green fees were not too high but it was offseason. The golf course was pretty short <6,000 yards but it was fun. A couple of holes right by the Caribbean and some elevation changes. You can check it out at http://www.thebuc...

We have a Canon with an underwater case that we used for the first time in October on our trip to St. John. I agree with Lark22 on all points. However, we took the camera out of the case after snorkeling for ease of taking other pics. We rinsed the case with warm soapy water when we got back to our ...

We took a rolling ice chest with Techni-ice on American Airlines about a month ago from Houston to Miami to STT. We did not have any problems. We checked the ice chest. All of our steaks, etc. were still frozen upon arrival. We told the agent in Houston what was in the ice chest and were not questio...

Just got back from St. John on Saturday. I wouldn't be too concerned with the weather reports. We saw the same predictions but there was actually very little of the time that it rained and much was at night. Not one day of our ten day trip was washed out. The mosquitoes were not as bad as we had fea...

Beach Security
Is it normally safe to set a towel or blanket down on the different isolated beaches with items left on them without someone walking off with everything while we snorkel? Not expensive items but sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, etc.
