AA owns 268 MD-80 class airplanes, with an average age of 18 years old (!) They still use em on the JFK-STT route and are prone to equipment problem delays at the gate. We stayed in Unit 10 a number of years ago. Unit was newly remodeled at that time - very nice- had a great vacation.
