We had friends who rented from Maho Bay Camps which was fine but basic, convenient if you are staying there. This past August we rented a couple of sets of fins and a prescription mask from Low Key Water Sports (next to the Beach Bar). Low Key had way more equipment to choose from.

Welcome back, Jim--looking forward to your report! I'm also a huge Phillies fan and we went to the parade on Friday. We were lucky and had tickets to get inside the stadium for the festivities, too. Wow, what a blast! Philly was one happy place last week.

YAY PHILLIES!!! ! Even in my sleepy suburban town the cops blocked off the main street and we were partying! We've been waiting a long time for this, and this is a great group of players. Off to the parade tomorrow! My son has a bad case of scarlet fever and will need to recover by being in the fre...

Just heard that they have decided to try to finish the game on Wed. night, starting at 8:30. The weather is truly crappy here today so I think this is a good decision. I'm also sort of glad that this will be a shortened game--my son is bone-tired from being up until 3:30 AM after the Saturday game, ...

I am a lifelong, long-suffering Phillies fan, and I was at the game on Saturday night which was tremendous (and also rainy, but it stopped BEFORE they played!). I agree that last night was a big letdown, but I just know we are going to pull out a win. Our bullpen has been consistently better than th...

We always hit these four: Skinny Legs (usually more than once, usually for lunch) Uncle Joe's - takeout for dinner Beach Bar - sometimes just drinks, sometimes food, too Sweet Plantains - our splurge dinner--we tend to eat in most nights, but we've been here the last 2 trips and we'll definitely go ...

Great report so far, and I can relate to the shark sightings. My son and I had a VERY close encounter with a not-nurse shark at Waterlemon 2 years ago, and I had a slight panic attack! He was cool as a cucumber but I freaked out, not really the response you're supposed to have. Can't wait for the ne...

I was away at a conference for the last few days, but I was thinking about and worrying about everyone in the VIs! I'm so glad Bruce and Jan (and the pets!) are doing okay, and that St. John seemed to be spared the worst. My brother and his family were in Nevis this week, and I think they just got o...

I hadn't really spent a lot of time at Gibney before our August trip (just snorkeled over from Hawksnest in previous trips), but Gibney was my favorite beach this time. It is pretty narrow in spots and flip-flop and Pia are right that there are places where you need to walk through water to get to t...

We rode the car barge over on our recent trip in August, and had no problems at all. Just listen to the directions you'll get, be prepared to back on, and you'll be fine. This was our first time with the barge, and the whole experience was much easier than I expected.
