Re: Jimmys on STJ
Sunshine Jeep Rental has Jimnys. Rates are a little less than a 2-door jeep but they are smaller and easier to find a parking place in Cruz Bay.

Jimmys on STJ
I am curious if anyone has rented a Jimmy in place of a jeep on STJ. We rented one on Virgin Gordo last Nov. Really liked it for two people but it did not have a lot of power. Would like to know if anyone has any experience with one on the North Shore road where it leads back up to Centerline. Some ...

Re: Looking for Great Map of the VI's - For Framing
I got one at Ruth's Spice Shop several years ago. Shows the BVIs and USVIs (both St Croix and Anegada shown as insets, lower left and upper right, respectively). Framed nicely, roughly 24 x 36" framed.

Re: VG first, then STJ or STJ then VG?
I seldom post any more, in fact have trouble remembering how to sign in! That being said, VG deserves a reply. We did a week on VG in Nov followed by the 2nd week on STJ. I would recommend that to anyone. We flew on Seaborne (I think) from San Juan, small plane but a fun flight, great views of islan...

Re: Most Overrated / Most Underrated
There must be two Driftwood Dave's! And, we went to the one that does not have the outstanding burger. We both order burgers when in Cruz Bay in Nov based on the raves on this forum. Now, I know forumites can't be wrong so I have to assume we went to the wrong Driftwood Dave's. The burger was ok, bu...

Re: New snorkel gear for next STJ trip ?
Tusa makes several nice masks and snorkels that seem to hold up well. Mine is 5-6 years old, provides good visibility, very flexible, does not leak and does not show any deterioration and fits comfortably. Tusa also make fins too.

Re: BVI Info
Great information and really helpful. We are going to VG for the first time in Nov, one week there and the second on STJ. From what I have seen, VG looks very different from STJ so we are looking forward to it. We decided to stay in one of Guavaberry's cottages. Looking forward to seeing a new islan...

Re: Jet blue connection in sju too short?
Jet Blue has a new terminal in SJU, and the gates are not far apart. Even if your flight in to SJU is a little late, you should be able to make your connection. Might want to consider 'carry-on' to make sure your luggage makes it too in case there is a late arrival in SJU.

Re: The reason behind when you go to STJ
We prefer early November for several reasons. Still low season rates, most restaurants are open, no crowds, generally a little cooler but the water is still comfortable. Hurricane season should be over. If staying at some elevation, the breezes are nice and a/c is usually not needed in the villa. We...

Re: Need help finding a villa
Maggy, Alta Vista might be worth a look, $2875 for 3-4. Has a pool and hot tub, 3 modules, with master bdrm in the main one off the kitchen area, and a bdrm each in the other two. Pretty nice overall. Not far from Centerline road turning at Chateau Bordeaux, paved road to the villa. Main living area...

Thanks much, a ton of information to digest! Great pictures! The Guavaberry area sounds very good.

Re: Virgin Gorda then St. John
Thanks to all. Any info is appreciated. The web sites for VG just are not nearly as good as those for STJ.
And yes, Iprof, we are, since I seriously doubt that I am going to be able to get 2 weeks free in 2014.

Virgin Gorda then St. John
We are seriously considering two weeks in the islands this November (our favorite time) and are thinking of the first week on Virgin Gorda and the second on St. John. We are very familiar with St. John but not at all with Virgin Gorda. Does anyone have experiences with the villas on VG? We are inter...

Re: For the Sleep Impaired Among Us...
Augie, Great blog! To say EagleRay Lover is excited is an understatement! Really enjoyed breakfast with her a few weeks ago and hearing about 'The Move'. As I sit here in a cold office in overcast north Florida and attempt to herd unruly faculty, I can not help but to think of the STJ, blue waters, ...

RickG,
Fair winds and a following sea!
I want to take that class. Bareboating is on my bucket list! (But, I don't think LProf is too thrilled over the idea)
