We had leftover grilled chicken and rice with beans. So, we shredded the chicken, added the rice and beans, some chips and salsa, and some shredded cheese, wrapped it in foil, and put it on the grill for fifteen or twenty minutes. Not as good as Margarita Phil's nachos, but good enough.

You might look at renting Tennis Villa along with the adjoining Tennis Cottage. View of Great Cruz Bay on one side and Chocolate Hole on the other.

I first visited St. John on several family vacations in the mid-sixties. Once at a rental house on Lavender Hill and another time or two at Caneel Bay Plantation (as it was known then). I was pretty young so there's a lot I don't remember, but it did make an impression. No grocery store on STJ then,...

We've had an Olympus 790 for a while -- first trip down it was fine, but this year the battery compartment leaked our first time out. Amazingly enough, once dried out the camera still worked (it was only a few drops of moisture visible on the battery). At that point, I downgraded it from "water...

What's that dark shadow in the water running up along the side of the ferry dock and the remains of the dinghy dock? Looks like something in the water that doesn't belong in the water.

Looks like they may have lost power at 10:18. That was the last image I saw for both St. John Brewers and Villa Serendipity. Villa Serendipity (Chocolate Hole) seems to still be updating. http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/caribbean-web-cams/chocolate-hole-st-john.shtml Best of luck to everyone, this...

I don't know what villa that is, but the one just about dead center, with the white roof and the pool/jacuzzi just below it, is Cliffside. Jac & I stayed there last year, and the driveway passes right in front of that new construction, which we called "Villa Hillside Behemoth".

I always ask the villa managers if it's ok to feed them first, some places get bothered if they have cats hanging around. Didn't have to ask at Tennis Villa. They have a barrel of cat food, numerous bowls and this sign: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/bill_jac/154157864/" title=&quo...

There was a black cat that was among the resident kittehs at Tennis Villa back in '06. He was very vocal, but his vocabulary consisted of "aaah". So, we named him "aaah". Creative, no? <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/bill_jac/150608952/" title="P5180179 by Bi...

What I think you need to do is keep the image the same size, but increase the amount of data compression, which reduces the file size (and the image quality). On a PC with Windows XP, for instance, you can load the image into Microsoft Photo Editor (found in the Microsoft Office Tools menu), select ...

We rented both properties in 2006. We had two couples and three children in the main house at Tennis Villa, one single adult in the pool house, and two couples and one single down at Tennis Cottage. We had three jeeps, with an occasional fourth stopping by, and we all parked on the Tennis Villa driv...

I bought a few at the cigar shop at Mongoose Junction, but they were pretty pricey compared to JR Tobacco at home. The next time, I brought a box down with me. I put the box in a giant ziploc bag because I figured the cargo hold would be pretty dry, but when we got to the villa, I just left them sit...
