We stayed at the timeshare side of the Westin in June of 2001. It was a gift from a timeshare owner....for our honeymoon. Overall very nice resort, but there was no beach at all. From your pics it looks as if they brought sand in. It used to be just rocks, no sand....well maybe a couple feet of it, ...

Re: Woo Hoo Flights booked
Ditto Go Bucs....feel your pain. Noticed your in FL too and we are usually 5-700 range for flights out of MCO. The AA merger has really screwed up their schedule and opened the door for fare increases. Paid double for our recently purchased tickets... AA was nearly triple so had to go with jet Blue ...

Re: NYE holiday on STJ?!
Thanks Crasherino. Good point on reservations, didn't really think about those this far in advance. Have to evaluate some dining options. We normally travel in November and/or May, but this year we have had some staffing changes at our business and the only full week we can travel is the xmas-nye we...

Re: Early AM layover in San Juan???
Thanks for the feedback. You all said what I already felt. Possible, but not ideal. Think we are going to shop some flights. This AA merger has really jacked up the prices and schedules from recent years!

Early AM layover in San Juan???
Anyone ever have a early AM layover in SJU? Looking at a JetBlue flight leaving at about midnight and arriving in SJU after 3am. Next flight is 7am to STT. Can travelers stay in the secure area since it a 3.5 hr layout at a really odd time? Our previous decade of traveling has brought us through MIA...

Re: NYE holiday on STJ?!
Not sure what we will do for actual NYE plans. Thought of staying in, but we are staying at STJ Guest Suites so not technically a "villa". Just the two of us so thought it was wasteful to spend all that money on a full villa. Thanks for the info regarding North shore beaches and parking! I...

NYE holiday on STJ?!
Anyone ever been on island for NYE? Our travel time slot this year dictated travel the week between Christmas and through New Years. Anyone have any NYE tips or tips for STJ that time of year? We fully understand it will be busy and it is what it is.

Re: Any thoughts on Villas, Easy Breezes, Palm Vista, Coyoba
We initially booked Easy Breezes. However, we cancelled it due to pricing issues and budgets. The neighboring villa so close also scared me off. The owner also seems to be raising the rate as we "booked" at a lower rate, but it was switched after we booked as our rate was too low according...

Re: November Airfare
We are annual travelers in November and we've had airfare from as low as 350 pp to 1400 pp (actually flew first class this time as it was $75 more than coach!). Average would have to be 500-600 pp. That's from Orlando though.

STJ Villa for two?
Looking for recommendations for a small villa for a couple. We have been to STJ many, many times over the years. Just never stayed on STJ and considering it in the upcoming year. Pretty much any location is an option. Pool is most likely required, but would consider not having a pool if house is clo...

We have a 790sw for 4 years at at least the same amount of trips. It is still waterproof to this day. I do lube the seals about a week before we travel and it's good. Plan to use it again this winter along with our new kodak playsport video camera. Used it this last trip and it took better pics side...

Private ferry
Booked some time on white bay on Jost this weekend and started looking at flight times. They sort of don't jive with our flight arrival in STT. Rather than staying a night on STT does anyone know the name of the company/person to contact for a private ferry straight to Jost? We have 4 of us so start...

We will definitely be renting two jeeps. We usually rent from Dependable on STT, but going over to STJ I am thinking renting on STJ would be wiser. One vehicle, regardless of size is just not doable. I would rather stay closer to north shore/cruz bay area. Close enough to town, but not too close. Pe...
