Hmmmm....what do you mean by snorkeling for lobster? Are you planning on catching one to cook? I have seen lobsters many times while out snorkeling. Saw a huge one in the rocks at Trunk last week and yesterday saw one at Haulover. Just keep your eyes open:)

Yes- you can print off boarding passes. You can go to Connections or Keep Me Posted (if you are in Coral Bay) to print off boarding passes. Does cost a little but well worth the hassle if you are not checking luggage. Just take your boarding pass and head straight to customs!

I have done it several times - but only when I have some one take me over on the car barge, I have my ticket printed and only have carry on. It is the taxi ride from Red Hook to the airport that can be the real killer. The other thing to remember is that customs doesn't open until 6:30 so there is n...

We usually see tarpon later in the day. We generally go snorkeling after work around 4-5 at Maho and have found them at both ends of the beach. Last Sunday we were at Francis and hit pay dirt- 5 big turtles, 3 octopi, a spotted ray and 2 big tarpon cruising by.

"Is there a spot where you can swim under the island to get to the other side?" "It must be nice not to have to pay the IRS taxes" (wrong- we pay taxes too) "Can you see fish when you snorkel?" "If you live here how come you aren't tan?" Answer- I have to work...

YUM!

I just had lunch at Sam and Jack's- the new place in the Marketplace and all I can say is WOW! Great food and a great price. The owner is the same who has the wonderful restaurant Zozo's. Check it out when you are on the island.

i shop at both cost-u-less and plaza extra but if you only have time for one go to plaza extra. cost-u-less sells in bulk so if you only want 1 bottle of ketchup you are out of luck. the produce at plaza extra is more reliable and i find it a bit cheaper.

Don't think you have to hike to the ends of the island to have good snorkeling. Try these spots: Maho - in the center area there are often turtles, a couple weeks ago we saw a beautiful spotted ray. Then head to the right side around the point to little Maho. Always a sure place to see Queen Angelfi...

I would not worry so much about the time. I have done it many times with little problem. The reason? Customs doesn't even open until after 7 am. I was so worried about the time crunch once that we stayed in the hotel closest to the airport the night before. We got to the airport and checked in with ...

Flat rate boxes are the best- you can pack a lot of stuff in a $10 box! Give it at least a week to get here though. I had a friend who shipped sun screen, bug spray, toiletries, even some snacks via drugstore.com. Be prepared though- there free shipping takes at least a month to get here:) It will g...

We live all over the place- nice houses, "non-conforming" houses, boats, apartments, etc. People who were here before the cost of land sky-rocketed live in very modest homes that are often next door to rather expensive villas. Many people built homes with a rental unit underneath. It helps...
