As an excuse to see my ticker and give a vote for Concordia, I'll chime in: I stayed in Concordia this past winter and am there again next week. I just love it there. It's remote, civilized camping(you can have provisions stocked and massages in the tent), the view is inredible to wake up, fall asle...

Keep it the way it is, try to add more eco-education, and if possible an animal sanctuary. Such a special place, deserves lots of good karma.

Maybe the puma of STJ will come back tonight, too! No worries, the mayans say that the world as we know it will end/change in 2012...that oughta save Maho.

Reasons for high season visit: 1- To Thaw Out! 2- For the sheer joy of sitting at Skinny Legs, after a full day at the beach, watching the weather channel with the radar showing blizzard like conditions and deep freeze temps while you struggle to keep your flip flops on after a few drinks! Good stuf...

All, Sounds great. As for reservations, make them now, and probably again later, it's the islands after all.... It would be great to start forming a bit of a group for this, looks like were building...maybe 6pm start? I'll be dragging off of the reef bay trail, so might work for me...;) We'll raise ...

Yes, Cruz Bay - next to Mongoose Junction, if I recall, it's just to the right if you are facing MJ. I would imagine it might be busy that particular night, but maybe not since it's no longer officially high season...

Thx Bug- I realized that every day is cinco de mayo on stj, it's probably alot of other days, too. Any excuse to have another drink on an island works. I love the 05/05/05, I'm sure it's for memory reasons! May- I'll be there Apr30-May7th, maybe we'll meet at the Beach Bar on Sunday, if you make it ...

Cinco de Mayo?

Any ideas on what to do on May 5? Maybe the obvious and less obvious choices? Or, am I nuts, and everyone just does the usual, everyday, get drunk at a bar, any bar, theme...

I love the spontaneity! I did something nearly/equally as daring, I extended my Jan/Feb trip for an additional 10 days, and I found everything I needed somehow. The last minute spots I found were Cool Breeze had several vehicle options and I managed to have a jeep. Concordia had some space, though t...

Haulover was one of my favs last trip, I'll take a look this May when I return, bummer of an experience, though incredible to find such wonderful help. Seems to be common on STJ to hear about good people doing good.
