Re: Airfare Post Christmas OMG
This really is absurd. It likely will cost our family of 6 about $6,000 just to get to STJ. Add that to the villa and we could buy a third world country instead. Ugh. What the hell were we thinking. Can I have a do-over?

Re: New Go-to Spots to Eat
When we went with Capt. John we had lunch at Seddy's One Love on White Bay...just down the beach from the Soggy Dollar. We liked it. Very chill, tables on the beach, shaded by trees. All of the seafood is very fresh. I had a lobster roll that was pretty darn good. If I remember correctly, there were...

Re: The Terrace
I would be interested in hearing from those who went to the Stone Terrace and who have since been to the Terrace...how does the Terrace compare in terms of the quality of the food, etc?

Re: April 26 - May 4 - Trip Report (Part II)
Thanks for the review of the Terrace. The Stone Terrace used to be our favorite restaurant in STJ. We are looking forward to trying the Terrace when we return to the island in December.
Hey, we're from the Madison area, too. (We live on Lake Waubesa in beautiful Mcfarland.)

Re: Are you flying to .......
With due respect, Pia, I just wish people would act locally when it comes to this issue. There are dogs in shelters just down the street from most of us who need care and love...and who need to be saved.

The Dane County Humane Society, right here in Madison, Wisconsin, would love if you adopted one of their dogs. If you are in the Midwest, no air transport is necessary.

The white, wooden structure in the background is the old Sosa's restaurant, directly across from Conrad Sutton's.mbw1024 wrote:Does anyone know where this shot is from? I cannot place it.

I think they were at Rhumblines.shoosh wrote:I liked the show. Nice to see all the St John sights and get a look in the villas.
Where was the restaurant/bar they were sitting at towards the end?
Didn't recognize it.

Thanks for the suggestion. But, when I click on that drop down menu, the most recent review is from 2011. I'm guessing that there are more recent reviews...somewhere.

Okay, I'm an idiot...but I still haven't figured out how to find the current restaurant reviews, either. Little help here.

Re: Amazingly Brazen
I agree with most of what has been posted on this thread, with one, minor exception. I would be seriously pissed if, for example, my wife and I rented a two bedroom villa (as only two people) and they locked the second bedroom. When you rent the "villa" you get the "villa." We li...

Re: Traditional "asking for hand in marriage" thoughts
Asking for a woman's " hand in marriage " is based on the assumption that the female is a possession to be passed from father to husband . Yup, that's the part that troubles me. It is particularly ironic given that the daughter who is the subject of this thread is a womens' studies major,...

Re: Traditional "asking for hand in marriage" thoughts
It seems outdated to me, as well. I could see them coming to us as a couple, together, to discuss their plans. But, I don't "own" any of my children so they certainly are not mine to give away.
