Re: Upcoming weather in St John not looking good?! :0

LOL we're not giving up those tickets....EVER! I get long range forecasts are fickle but like I said I've been spot checking the forecasts for over a month and suddenly yesterday I checked and was floored with all the rain predicted. This will be our third time in the USVI so I will just keep calm a...

Upcoming weather in St John not looking good?! :0

I know long range forecasts are iffy at best but this is the first time I have seen such an ugly long range forecast with 60-70% chance of rain EVERY day. I didn't see any tropical activity or development predicted but like I said the forecast is downright ugly. Is anyone there now and can comment o...

BVI boat excursion: Bad Kitty vs. New Horizons II

Hey guys will be in STJ in early November with two adults and three kids (17, 12, 5). I did NHII a couple of years ago with just adults and enjoyed it but thinking of Bad Kitty this time around. It looks like the boat sizes are comparable. It looks like they both hit the Bath's first and then Soggy ...

We were there from 11/3-8 and the Cruz Bay-Charlotte Amalie ferry wss not running. There was a sign in the ferry terminal at Cruz Bay that apologized for the inconvenience but until further notice that ferry would not be running.

We are taking a 3 hour tour with this outfit on Friday: http://www.hiddenreefecotours.com/kayak ... ntact.html

They get very high ratings on TripAdvisor and are supposed to be good for families. They are located in Coral Bay.

I just called Dependable who told me their 4DR Jeep Wranglers are all 2007's which I guess isn't too bad. They also told me I am in the nonrefundable cancellation period now so I guess I will be staying with them. Otherwise I would have switched to Amalie with their 2010/11 Jeeps! Thanks.

Condition of rental Jeeps

Hi all. Leaving Wednesday morning...getting close! We had rented on STT with Dependable in '08 for our STT trip and have a reservation with them this year too for a 4 door Jeep Wrangler. I recall our last Jeep with them was very old...is this typical with Dependable's Jeeps? I called Amalie Rental C...

Nice TR! How has the surf been with the hurricane to the south? I am guessing the northern facing beaches have been fine.

Gores: we will be staying there after you so please let us know if you have any tips--especially if you find any beaches that you can walk to. Also, we want to do a little grilling. I know that we would have a grill at the condo but I was hoping to have a picnic somewhere close. Have a great trip!!...

Yes, me too. Right now it looks like it's getting south of the VI's. Is it really common that a hurricane ot tropical storm turns back again and head north east, after it has passed the Caribbean islands? I sure hope not! I don't like ANY tropical system in the vicinity of our vacation destination!...

Hurricane Tomas?

Anyone (like us) keeping a wary eye? We went through Hurricane Omar on STT a couple of years ago and do not want to go though it again! It looks to be staying south of the VI through at least Thursday but hopefully it will not do anything silly and curve back towards us!

Just to bring some resolution to this thread...we ended up renting the Grande Bay 3BR condo. I leaned towards the Casa Bueno villa but my wife wanted the condo closer to the action in Cruz Bay. She felt the ability to walk into town for shopping and restaurants/bars was a big plus. Also with two you...
