My wife and I have been there twice and enjoyed it very much. We found the locals to be very friendly and helpful. It is "rustic" in that it hasn't caught up to the tourist craze just yet. Our top three choices for restaurants were closed due to a variety of incidents that could only happe...

We had someone from our group put both hands down in the water - each, right on top of a sea urchin. It was very painful for her. The clinic on the island said there was nothing you could do other than soak it in vinegar. If you try to pull the spikes out, they just crumble. Always look for sea urch...

Thanks for the great trip report. When we were sailing, we actually caught a barracuda on the fishing line. Before releasing him back to the water we got a pretty good look at those teeth. Wow! These guys are at the top of their food chain and nothing seems to bother them. They're very inquisitive a...

Great Harbor and food

We loved staying in the boat overnight. We had done this once before and stayed just outside the caves at Norman Island (even more scenic). Unfortunately, although there was supposed to be a band at Foxy's there was virtually no one there and no band. The booze was included on the boat so that made ...

Go for the boat ride

A night (or more) on a boat in the BVIs is a great adventure. It's hard to find a boat that will do such a short trip but try it if you can. The crew will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go or plan the trip for you. By the time you pay for an excursion and meals, the cost of this overnight...

Aug 5 to 12 trip report

Our group of ten took off from BWI, Dulles and Reagan National on four separate flights. (American Airlines and Delta). All flights were on time and went without a hitch. Five of us met up in San Juan and we landed about 1 minute behind the rest of our group in STT. With carry-on luggage only, we he...

Took an overnight cruise out of STJ

We just got back from STJ - great weather, lots of mosquitos, and caught in the first weekend of the new travel restrictions. The highlight of our week was an overnight cruise on a tri-maran with our group of ten. Seems extravagent but, if you're going to take a couple of excursions, this might stre...
