Absolutely agree -- direct link to St John Rescue is at the bottom of my original message!Pickle wrote:it does seem better, at least for now, to donate directly to St. John Rescue so they can use them now.

Agent99, I just find that it puts it into perspective...like, I spent this money on my own STJ enjoyment, now it's time to earmark a similar amount back to the island itself.
I'm heartsick thinking about all of the people whose lives and homes have been ruined.

Our beloved STJ needs your help. Please donate.
Hi Team STJ, While we're all anxiously waiting for news and details, one thing is certain; the damage is awful, and the people of St John need help desperately. Thoughts and prayers are lovely, but action is needed. The best practical way for all of us to act right now is donate to St. John Rescue ,...

Re: any on island reports?
Unfortunately I'm sorry to report that the eyewall just hit STJ less than an hour ago, here's the current radar image at 2PM. All there is to do now is wait to hear from residents, and to pray if that's your thing

Re: any on island reports?
The storm is projected to pass directly to the north of the island this afternoon, the eye will be passing closest roughly around 2-3pm. The eye will probably be ~20 miles north, but this storm is huge and extremely strong. If anyone on the forum has direct pull with the Big Guy, now's the time to u...

Re: April
Last time we were on island in April was two years ago, for our 10th anniversary, for a 10 day stay, I think? We may have had a day or two that weren't start-to-finish sun, but it was mostly gorgeous.
I think it's the luck of the draw, really...but I've always enjoyed our April trips!

Re: St. John as a solo female
I'm jealous! Sounds like a lovely trip. I don't have any advice about the hiking, etc., but re: the driving, I had the same experience -- for 5 or 6 trips, I had never gotten behind the wheel (husband loves driving on STJ and I was totally fine with sitting and enjoying the view!) But a few trips ag...

Has John Head road reopened?
We're considering a last-minute trip, and a closed John Head road would affect our choice of villa. Can anyone let me know the status? I couldn't find much current info online.
Thanks very much!
