We are leaving for St. John tomorrow. We are staying at Palm Terrace Villas - 3 bedrooms, 3 baths. I have heard the view is not so great though. I will post a trip report when I return. We have traveled with groups of 8 & 9 several times. Of course, we had to rent 2 jeeps, but every day we went ...

I am impressed! I've made a few quilts. It looks like she took a lot of time on this wall hanging.

I was married on St. Thomas in 1996. The following year we returned to St. Thomas for a couple days on the way to St. Croix and took our first day trip to St. John. We vowed to come back and spend more time. Since 97 we have taken 3 day trips to St. John and coming up this summer will be our 7th wee...

I have three of the polar bear coolers and have used them to take food to St. John before. This year we have to spend the first night on St. Thomas, so we will be leaving our house at 4 am and not arriving on St. John until noon the following day. If all our stuff is frozen, do you think the polar b...

Ivan's

I have stayed at Ivan's Campground three times. The last time was two years ago. The tent cottages are very rustic. They have a bed, a couple shelves, and a place to hang clothes. The ones we stayed in also had a refrigerator. I think it is extra for the refrigerator. We have also stayed in the cond...

I often stay at Maho Campground. I usually snorkel from Little Maho to Big Maho. There is a lot to see at the point right in between the two. This is one of my favorite places to snorkel.

Trip Report - July 6-13 - Villa Amora (Part 3)

We decided to bring a cooler down with frozen foods. I had purchased a new polar bear cooler, and I really liked it. It zipped right up and I didn't have to worry about taping it with duct tape in case the snap came open. It was a little heavy (48 lbs) to carry. I liked it also because it only weigh...

Trip Report - July 6-13 - Villa Amora (Part 2)

We really liked Villa Amora. It was about 3 blocks to town, but at the top of a steep hill. It took 5-10 minutes to walk to town, but a little longer to get back because it was all up hill. We walked to town at least 3 or 4 times. The villa has two good sized bedrooms upstairs with views of the ocea...

Trip report - July 6-13 - Villa Amora (Part 1)

My husband & I along with three other couples spent 7 days at Villa Amora. Two of the couples were newbies and one of the couples had been there two years ago with us. We normally stay at Maho, so Villa Amora was very nice. We visited a beach or two each day. Among them were Maho , Jumbie, Cinna...

I arrived here on St. John on Tuesday. It was very hazy on Tuesday, but it seems to be clearing a little bit each day. The mosquitoes are really bad. I feel like I'm on an OFF commercial every time I step outside. You MUST spray before stepping outside. We even saw signs on the island that said acti...

We are arriving the day after the parade. It was cheaper to fly in that day and I had also heard that it was sometimes difficult to get a car during the 4th of July celebrations.

We've stayed there in July. It is a little warm during the day in the cabins, but at night it cools off enough to sleep (especially with the fan). We are heading back there this July. When are you planning on being there?
