Waterfront Bistro was great for us.
If you're doing something at Caneel, better check to see which restaurants are open. When we were there in January, they were on a rotating schedule, and never got to eat at Turtle Bay Estate because it was closed on the nights we were available.

Those pictures are stunningly beautiful! Loved the color comparison to Windex.

What were the temps (both air and water) like during February? Just curious.

Golf trip to Ireland?

My husband and friends, possibly 8 altogether, are looking to do a golf trip to Ireland to celebrate their 50th birthdays in the fall of next year. We are starting from scratch as I know absolutely nothing about Ireland. Does anyone have any knowledge of golfing in Ireland? Any help/suggestions woul...

Trip report - 4 nights at Caneel - part 2

I left off my first installment with a beautiful sunset, so next up, our meals. First night's dinner was at The Equator. We opted to stay on the property because our wagons were draggin' since we were on the road at 4 a.m. on our travel day. We had a table with a view, not quite at the rail, but a b...

The coconut shampoo from Caneel is by Lady Primrose and they still offer it in the guest rooms. I just finished my little bottle that I brought home two weeks ago. Immediately went online to see how I could get more. Just love it. I also got hooked on the shampoo supplied by Disney's Grand Floridian...

Overrated: Smoothie stand - - stopped there on our first trip to STJ and couldn't understand what all the hype was. I found it overpriced, under-rummed, and frankly, it smelled bad. My then 8-yr old daughter pulled me aside and said "Mom, it smells like someone got sick behind there." I co...

I took my daughter and her friends to NYC for her 13th birthday last year and she wanted to stop in at Abercrombie....that place was FOUR FLOORS of dark, cave-like, music-so-loud-you-feel-your-heart-pound-in-your-chest, and fragranced to the max!! At every floor there was an employee (sometimes 2) s...

Caneel Bay trip report - 4 nights; part one

Background: We are 2 couples in our 40's; our previous two trips to STJ had been taken with our kids (remember the 5 daughters in cornrow braids on the beach?) We decided last summer to do this trip without our kids as it was getting harder and harder to pull them out of school for a whole week and ...

Becky - just wanted to respond to your reservations question since we just got back. We called same day for our reservations and had no trouble getting a table for 4. We ate at Waterfront Bistro, Zozo's, the Equator, and La Tapa. Loved them all. Zozo's and LaTapa were on the busy side. We called eac...

We had great weather, only a few spotty showers here and there which lasted only a minute or two. The water was a tiny bit cool. Let me preface my comments by saying I prefer my pool water to be 86 degrees; I don't like to tiptoe in, however, even though I like really warm water, the ocean water was...

Just back last night from 4 nights at Caneel

Just got back last night at 10 pm from our 4-night getaway at Caneel. This morning, pouring my coffee at 9:00 a.m. looking out my kitchen window at the snow and ice, I thought to myself, "just 24 hrs ago I was sitting on Scott Beach, drinking my coffee, and watching the turtles pop their heads ...

We've used Winner Airport Valet for years and have never had a bad experience. It's actually right next to Pacifico which also offers the service. There's usually a coupon on their website too. If you pay the extra $10.00, they'll pick you up after your arrival in your own car, you just load up your...
