Re: Passion Fruit Chefs

We used them for a drop-off dinner in our villa this past December. They were very accommodating and the food was plenty and delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to use Passion Fruit Chefs again.

Re: NYE holiday on STJ?!

We were there this past NYE week, and yes, the island was packed! Make sure you get dinner reservations early, most places were taking reservations starting Dec 1st. Get up early to find parking at North shore beaches. Parking lots were filled up by 9:30-10:00 am. Also, parking in Cruz Bay was extre...

Re: Ireland?

I took my daughter for a week in June 2013 for her high school graduation trip. We flew into Shannon, rented a car and drove all around the country. Saw a lot, stayed in a different place every night, mostly bed and breakfasts. Loved Doolin, a great little town on the west coast, Wicklow mountains a...

Re: The real deal on Xmas/NY Eve week?

We just returned home this past weekend, came down 12/27-1/3. The island was crowded. Parking at north shore beaches was non-existent unless you got there super early. Felt like we were in Disney World as we had to be up and on the road by 8:30-8:45 am to secure a parking spot. Went to Honeymoon our...

Ireland trip--suggestions please

Hi all - - I just booked two tickets to Ireland for my 18 yr-old daughter and me for her high school graduation present, flying into Shannon airport at the end of this month. While my entire family loves St John, she has always wanted to see Ireland, so I am looking for suggestions on "must see...

Re: Rapture

We stayed at Rapture in February. It does sit fairly high up in the hill which allows for those beautiful views. The online pictures of the villa are very accurate; the place is gorgeous. I really don't think it's a five-minute walk to the Westin, definitely longer. It would be a heck of a walk back...

Re: 4+ bedroom villa suggestions

We just stayed at Rapture at the end of February. It was beautiful and would definitely work for your group. The daybed in the "game room" is actually a trundle bed. The 9-yr old in our group pulled it out, rolled it into the bedroom with the twin beds, and slept there all week with the ol...

Day trip to Jost by ferry with expiring passport

We are arriving on STJ in less than 2 weeks and were planning on taking the ferry to Jost for a day trip, however, I recently found out that some members of our group have passports that are expiring in April. According to the State Department's website, all persons entering the BVI must have a vali...

Let her go. We took our two daughters out of school every year for an entire week up to and including our oldest daughter's freshman year. She was in all honors classes, got good grades and was a hard worker. She caught up after a lot of work, but after freshman year, she refused to be taken out of ...

We've stayed on the Imperial Club level a number of times and really loved it. A really nice casual breakfast, cocktail hour, and evening dessert selection is included if you stay there. The service is great, and you get to check in at a different area instead of waiting in line with everyone else. ...

We stayed at Rendezview Feb 2008. Very nice villa. Driveway was not a problem. One thing I remember was the wind coming off Hart Bay. We could not use the beautiful decks because it was so windy. Also, the villa gets morning sun so the pool was never very warm. Combined with the wind, we never stepp...

Newark airport hotel suggestions

We are leaving for Anguilla very soon, hopefully in between all of these darned storms. Just in case, can anyone recommend a decent airport hotel near Newark? Any help would be appreciated.

Friends of my brother were there over July 4th holiday. They stayed in a villa/house. The husband liked the laid back, casualness of the island. The wife was not as thrilled. She had an interesting experience...they went horseback riding, she's never ridden before and was given a gentle horse. Partw...

Actually, kids passports are good for 5 years, but unfortunately, you can't renew them at expiration. You must start all over with a new passport application. We just went through that last week for our girls. The application cost is a little less for minors, we paid $80 per child and $50 to the pub...

When we were there over Thanksgiving, we ate at: High Tide - never been there prior, good casual food and atmosphere, live music on Mondays (actually thought Mojo was part of High Tide until we got a closer look) Waterfront Bistro - excellent food and service, a bit pricey but maybe we all just orde...
