We did Vieques back in 2006 and had a great time. The beaches are as plentiful and beautiful, the bio-bay is really cool, there are some great restaurants, and the vibe is a little different/still good though. We rented from Casa Ladera and had a great experience. There are multiple units that can b...

We last visited St. John in 2008 with our then 10 month old daughter. Upon arrival she was running a fever of 103. We took her to the on-island Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center and received top-notch care. The facility is nicer than some of the local urgent care centers I've been to in th...

Excellent victory! We partied in style with 18 of our closest friends here in Cincinnati (all Bengals fans  ). Pierogies, Primanti Brothers-style sandwiches, and some Iron City Light. You'll be able to spot my fandom on St. John as I will be the one sunning myself  on my beach-towel size...

I usually stay out of this type of dialogue, but I am baffled by the laissez-faire response to this. I don't care about the fact that crime rates are higher where I live. I don't care about there being more to this story. And I don't care that the guy is now sorry. What I care about is that there we...

'Andante by the Sea' meets your criteria. There are 2 bedrooms that open up in the main part of the house so you can control the exit to the outside upper deck which in turn features a gate that blocks off the steps to the lower deck where the pool and hot-tub are. We just stayed there in May with o...

I posted about a gift basket I ordered from East West Catering for our trip in May. We ordered the 'basic welcome to paradise package'
It was a lot of food and lasted several days. They were easy to work with. Here's the link:

We stayed at Andante 2 weeks ago. We drove past the Pond Bay site every day. It looks like they are at an interim stage of development, in between clearing the land for building and actually starting to build. Not sure what the time horizon for construction is, but when it starts there will probably...

Kplumm, yes, you can see the lights of STT, from the upper deck and while seated in the hot tub. There were comfortable chairs on both deck levels including two loungers on each. We actually spent a lot of time lounging under the moonlight from a full mood during our stay. I saw hummingbirds on two ...

I've never stayed in Colibre, but we just stayed in Andante last week. We chose Andante based on it meeting everyone's needs; pool, hot-tub, proximity to beach, views, a/c, at least two bedrooms opening to the interior of the house (to contain the kids), and a little privacy for my parents to escape...

Great questions Jennifer! We've had a number of travel experiences when it was just one child - Abby. She's accompanied us for a long weekend in New Orleans (solo/age 3), the Disney thing (with my wife's parents/age 3), Vieques PR (with our babysitter/age 2), England (solo/age 18 mos), and STJ (solo...

Trip Report (novel): 10 days on STJ with 2 young children
THE BASICS My wife and I (late 30's), our two girls (ages 10 months and 4 years), and my parents (late 50's) met up for a much needed vacation on STJ from May 12-22. It was the 3rd visit for my wife and I, 2nd visit for our 4 year old, and every one else's first trip to STJ. Our last trip was in 20...
