Re: Should I cheat on STJ?

Hi BC, These villas all look great. We've visited Tortola several times and enjoyed it. Did you make your decision yet? We're "cheating on StJ" in 2015 with a trip to Peter Island, but will likely go to StJ in the fall. We normally spend an entire trip on either USVI or BVI, but not both. ...

Re: Must try restaurants???

We enjoyed Lime Inn for lobster dinners during our last 2 trips to StJ. The owner is friendly and nice to chat with too. Their salads were fresh and tasty as well. We always enjoy Sogos for West Indian food - try the curried goat and shrimp creole. Meals come with several side dishes and its a lot o...

Kevin,
Thanks for your email note pointing us to this. Hubby and I are really enjoying your posts and pics. Last time we stayed at Coconuts, he loved being able to use the telescope. Thanks for posting!
Wishing you the best in 2015 and many enjoyable times at Coconuts and Plumeria!

Re: STJ Villa for two?

We've stayed at Coconuts several times. Its spacious for 2 people, but not overly so. The view from the deck is fabulous and the pool is private. We like the Gifft Hill location to be close to Cruz Bay for groceries and restaurants, and it's not a long drive to the north shore beaches. Highly recomm...

Re: OT Trip Report & Photos > Central Europe Part 3 final

Thank you for posting this series of trip reports! I thoroughly enjoyed reading them and plan to share them with my hubby. These places are on our (very long) travel list. Amusing story about Prague - some friends of ours visited there many years ago and sent us a postcard. They wrote "having s...

Another vote for D'Coal Pot in Cruz Bay. Great West Indian food. Their mac and cheese side dish was different and delicious.

Re: Should I cheat on STJ?

I wouldn't split the 8 days between USVI and BVI because the major part of one day will be spent transferring from one to the other. We visit STJ and the BVIs, but just one or the other per trip to cut down on packing/unpacking/transfer/check-in time. We've enjoyed our trips to Tortola - definitely ...

Re: Virgin Gorda 3 nite stay?

We recently returned from 10 days on VG and loved it. We stayed at a villa called Adagio, which was wonderful. I don't know if it has a minimum stay, but I highly recommend it. Did you look at Nail Bay? We haven't stayed there, but have seen the resort and eaten at the restaurant. Its a scenic place...

Re: Why do I do this to myself...

Hi Pam, Your post made me smile. We have been through a similar decision process when it comes to connecting flights. We go through wishful thinking and analyzing and such. However, we always go with flights that give us a comfortable "margin of error", so we aren't overly stressed and rus...

Re: Blue Bitch

This isn't an answer to your question since we haven't stayed there, but wanted to mention that we met the owner on our last trip to STJ. He was playing his pan drum at the afternoon tea at Caneel. We really enjoyed the music and chatted with him afterwards. He was quite friendly and gave us a card ...

Re: Upcoming weather in St John not looking good?! :0

Question for Kevin and other weather-knowledgeable types: Is there any way to "see" the period of sustained unsettled weather and heavy rain in a forecast? When we are going to do a last minute trip, I dutifully look at the NHC website to see if there are any disturbances coming over from ...

anyone having trouble with PM today?

When I try to send a PM, it just sits in my Outbox. I've logged out and back in again, but its still sitting there. Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Other Islands...Which one would you choose?

Hi Toni, Where are you staying on VG? We had such a nice time on the island and its on our list to go again. Here is the website we used to check on ferry schedules and prices. http://www.bestofbvi.com/info/info_bviferry.htm There is a little dropdown box to use for selecting which route you want to...
