Re: Coqui hate?

Too funny... On our trip a few years back...I was majorly wound up on the first night apparently. Too much computer stuff at work...details and numbers and codes. All night long I was dreaming of the keyboard--and I kept pressing delete, delete, delete--but it never worked. I finally woke up at abou...

Re: Casa Blanca

Actually we rented Casa Blanca via Villafish--but the on island mgt for it is the Caribe Havens person.
Found that out the hard way--as I tried to avoid that.

Re: Casa Blanca

Hey there! We stayed in Casa Blanca last summer--post renovation. I was hesitant to post a review of it for 2 reasons. 1. It seems to be a good secret and extremely affordable. 2. There were some quirks with it, and the on-island manager was not particulary pleasant to deal with. With both of those ...

Re: St. John without a Jeep?

We have done this many times...for a family of 3 if was much less expensive than a vehicle. We stayed in Cruz Bay area and taxied to North Shores beaches. On beach days we called the taxi stand to come pick us up at at our rental so we could bring chairs. And no problem being dropped back at our ren...

Hey...We are staying there in June. We stayed at Star Villa up the hill (the unit w/the pool) last year and saw them working on the Casablanca re-do everyday as we went up and down the hill. I think it's going to be a cool place to hang out---I really love my own swimming pool. And the price can't b...

Hi, I work in travel, and there is definitely single connection service w/American every day via Miami. The AA website seems to be not picking up the nonstop flights from STL to Miami. So either their web-site is messed up, or impending doom for that AM outbound nonstop from St. Louis, as well as th...

I'm in the (corporate) travel biz. Fares are just at a crazy high. Fuel prices, decreased capacity, bizarre winter storms, volatile world events...the airlines have a lot of cancellations to recoup for. I don't see a bargain in the near future  We wanted to go to Europe first, then Caribbean, a...

beach day on St. Croix

Hey all, We have been to St. John many times over the past 2 decades--Gallows, Westin, various villas... Our favorite beaches are Cinnamon, Hawksnest (married there many years ago) and Trunk (on a non cruise ship day!) We find ourselves coming up on a cruise which includes St. Croix. I've always wan...

Hello, We have been to St. John alot. We have been to Greece alot... Love them both for entirely different reasons. You don't mention what time of year you plan to travel. Unlike St. John there is decidely a winter time. Amen to Matt Barrett's web-site. Superb! Sifnos is our favorite for down right ...

For what it's worth (and I do like to cook and am always on a budget)...if each of your travelers uses 1/4 of their luggage space to bring anything packaged or appealing to you. Microwave popcorn, drink powder, goldfish, mac and cheese boxes, pringles, jar of pesto, box of spaghetti, rice, granola b...

I haven't been to Frank Bay Villa, but we did stay at Amora in 2005. I posted a villa review here (it's still there). When I read back over it, I realize I was still a little starry eyed from my week in paradise. Here are the more realistic pro's and con's. Pro's... --Price...very affordable for bei...

I was at Trunk Bay a few years back and the wave breaks were at 10 feet high and enormous. It was incredibly loud (and for a not great swimmer)sort of scary. It was clearly posted red flag at the entrance, and the lifeguard was busy as could be warning non athletic looking people about back/muscle i...
