Absolutely great trip report. I know that Saltpond barracuda well. It was the first one my husband ever saw and he was a bit freaked out by its size and the fact that it did not seem the least bit intimidated by humans. Also, I've had the good luck to happen upon that school of tarpon. I'm 5'3"...

Dear Ruth: Yes, attacks can happen anywhere, but when a tourist is beaten senseless for no reason, that should be the police department's 24 hour obsession until justice is had. Dear Ruth: Yes, attacks can happen anywhere, but when a tourist is beaten senseless for no reason, that should be the police department's 24 hour obsession until justice is had.
