CNN Stimulus in Paradise

I got the impression from this that CNN thinks that the USVIs are quaint little islands that aren't really part of the U.S. and not entitled to a share of the stimulus money. We could debate whether the stimulus program is wise or not but to imply that residents of the USVI are somehow not true Amer...

Here's a link to a recent review/comparison of the cameras being discussed: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q209waterproofgroup/ I have found that some quick 'auto level' adjustment in Photoshop or other image editing software acan really make underwater photos 'sing'. Here's a shot I took on Culebr...

Sunscreen kills coral!?

Considering the snorkel traffic
in the Virgin Islands, this is
food for thought.

Here's another good tracking site.
Looking at the "Spaghetti Model"
shows what the various computer
models think will happen...not
too encouraging for the VIs right
now but, as other have mentioned,
it is too soon to tell.

Whichever pronunciation you use, you are correct. http://www.confidentspeech.com/poll_results_often.htm I have to admit that the correctness of the "english" we speak is a democratic thing and it appears that ofTen has gained in popularity and, when most people pronounce the "t"...

Wait... the "t" in "often" is supposed to be silent? Really?
Yes, and "bieng" is spelled "being".

In this day and age misinformation and misuse of words is rampant. I've heard of the internet bieng called "The Information Superhighway" but it often seems more like the "Misinformation Turnpike". One that drive me nuts (besides hearing the silent "t" in "often&qu...

CariBert, I agree and I mean no offense to KC fans. In my own backhanded way I was trying to say that I was very impressed with him after the 60 minutes segment. Anyone who can make that much money by making people happy and then be generous to the folks who helped him is WAY alright in my book. The...

I'm not a KC fan but I saw the 60 Minutes blurb. What I came to realize is that he's a rather mediocre singer. I also came to realize that he's a master marketer and has made a wonderful life for himself and his organization. He seems like a wonderful person...all in all I came away from the segment...
