To the best of my knowledge, LIAT is the only scheduled air currently flying St. Martin to St. Thomas. Caribbean Sun ceased operations in 2007 and it's sister, Caribbean Star has been merged with LIAT. Cape Air covers the Virgins, but I don't believe it flys to SXM. I do think WinAir flys SXM to the...

Please, don't feed the donkeys. They are quite good at finding their own meals. Hand feeding them is fun, until they get accustomed to hand-outs. When they start getting pushing about treats, they really aren't so cute anymore. A pushy donkey that weighs 400 pounds can actually become rather dangero...

The kitchen is galley style and small on space, but it has full sized appliances and all the appropriate equipment. There is a small dining ...

 Try these by J. Maarten Troost. They're laugh-out-loud funny. Although they are stories of South Pacific islands, not the Caribbean...still very appropriate for an island vacation. Titles: The Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific Getting Stoned with Savages: A Trip Through ...

Thank You, JMQ
:D I'm sure it is your posts about VG that I remember. Thanks for the reply, very valuable info. We were lucky enough to snorkel the Indians last January. Amazing! Saw lots of big fish, and a 5-ft reef shark cruising below us. :) But as you say, if off-the-beach snorkeling is not as good as St. John...

Snorkeling comparison - Virgin Gorda to St. John
Greetings! I think this has been asked before, but it may be on the old forum, and pardon me please for straying just a bit off-topic. We have visited several Caribbean islands, including two visits to St. John. We loved the snorkeling there. We are considering 7-10 days on Virgin Gorda this winter....
