Re: 9 Days on STJ...Coral Bay, The Swell and Hansen

Hansen is just past Vie's. Watch for the sign, but its hard to miss. The beach is rocky on the left, but sandier on the right. Fairly shallow up close. No appreciable wave action. Check for urchins before you send the kids out. Its the most accessible beach I've seen on STJ. Not even a road to cross.

They park you right on their beach property or across the street.

Blue Bay View is listed on VRBO as #619573. It is outstanding

9 Days on STJ...Coral Bay, The Swell and Hansen

Just wrapped-up 9 days in Coral Bay with my two young adult kids. Great time! Stayed at Blue Bay View near the top of 108. Great place, great value, awesome airplane views. Hit the north shore beach favs early since cruisers were scheduled to flock starting Tues. Glad we did cause a nasty swell hit ...

Re: Coral Bay/East End Eats

Wow! Fridays look like one heck of a choice. BBQ at Oasis or Ponzu Tuna at Aqua Bistro.

Oh, wait...we're on-island for TWO Fridays. WhooHoo!!

Life is good

Re: new snorkeling Book

Thanks everyone!

Between the book and your advice, I know exactly where we'll be on Tues, Wed & Thurs when 6-14,000 cruisers arrive on STT. We'll be hitting the north coast favs on our other days.

Re: new snorkeling Book

So...
In reviewing the new snorkeling book, I'm intrigued by all of the prospects.
Borck, Princess, Haulover appear to possibly be accessible from the road? Any parking in the area?

I'm assuming that Otter & Water are only accessible form the water, yes?

Thanks for the help

Expect to have mine before our upcoming visit. The proprietors were very helpful with expedited shipping.

Coral Bay/East End Eats

Hey Gang

On our way soon and wanted to check on recommendations for eats out East (groceries and bars/restaurants). Cruz Bay food is well covered, but with the closings out East over the last few months/years I've sorta lost my bearings.

Any input?

Re: Ferry to JVD?

STJChica...the path you're refering to is on White Bay and heads from Sandcastle/SDB over to Ivan's. It is indeed easy & rocky. The earlier comments pertained to the hill between White Bay and Great Harbor which is truely a bear!

Re: BVI trip-where?

Well, you've picked a great island for your visit. For my money I'd either stay around The Baths in The Valley or in a villa at Mahoe Bay. Around The Baths in The Valley you have Guavaberry Spring Bay with very reasonable 1 & 2 BR rondels or several villas right around The Baths. Excellent snork...

First thing I do when I get on-islon is buy a gallon of water...remove water. Dump big can of pineapple juice (46 oz), 1 can of Coco Lopez (15 oz) and 16 oz of OJ. This is a 3:1:1 receipe. Cap and shake for as long as you can, add rum (dark) to taste into plastic cup 3/4 filled with ice cubes and ad...

Hi Jack...for my money, you've picked a great home base for VG. Not only are Tina and the gang at Guavaberry VERY nice and helpful, Spring Bay is arguably one of the best little beaches in the world and has wonderful snorkeling. You'll be able to provision right at the Guavaberry commissary. Don't b...

Cleveland Dave - What was the result of your call to the Marine Safety Officer at USCG STT? They advised from the start that since the incident took place outside of their jurisdiction, they would not be able to initiate any enforcement action. I suggested that their licensing purview was an approp...

Hi B&J! We went to The Caves & The Indians with Kuralu where my daughter got her first snorkeling in. We only snorkeled from shore at Apple Bay . Snorkeling wasn't the emphasis that I thought it would be, but the kids did really like it. Best Eats Ginger Chicken & Shrimp Roti at Palm's D...
