Re: Rachel’s Taxi?
Just to follow up on this thread - I just got off the phone with Rachel and she is picking us up when we arrive in STT next week, so she'll still going strong!

Re: STT Taxi with Car seat
Thanks for the info re Rachel. I will definitely give her a buzz.
We've used Christy's on island before for car seat rentals but I'll check out Island Baby as well.

STT Taxi with Car seat
We are headed back down to STJ with our 3 year old and I was looking to find a private taxi that is able to provide a toddler car seat. When she was younger, we checked her infant seat and were able to install it in the vans. Its been a long while since our boys were this age and I know I was able t...

Re: Beach Bar status?
Any word whether the Beach Bar will be ready by Christmas? I’ve seen some pics that show they’re hard at work but no definitive date yet.

Re: Carnival question
We are in the same boat - we've never been on island during Carnival.
I'm embarrassed to admit it - I didn't realize it was Carnival starting on Friday until the other day. If anyone has any tips, thoughts, suggestions, etc. re Carnival, would love to hear them.

Re: 2018 Roll Call
Staying at Mandavilla for the first time in our late June/early July visit. Anyone stay there before? Looks great from the reviews, etc. - very excited to go back. If anyone is around that time period, my wife and I are looking to book an Island Roots charter and would welcome a split. Some time bet...

Re: 2018 Roll Call
We just called an audible and switched our June/July trip to Napa to STJ instead. My wife and I were both seemingly pretending that we should go to Napa because we've never been and it's just something we should do. But as we kept discussing it, it became evident that we both would much rather be ba...

Re: Buy Irma Relief bracelets!
Syd - bracelets came in the mail yesterday and they look awesome! The kids love them and are wearing them to school today (my little one thinks it's funny if she puts it in her mouth but that's another story).
Great job raising money for our beloved home away from home!

Re: 9 Days on STJ...Coral Bay, The Swell and Hansen
Hansen is just past Vie's. Watch for the sign, but its hard to miss. The beach is rocky on the left, but sandier on the right. Fairly shallow up close. No appreciable wave action. Check for urchins before you send the kids out. Its the most accessible beach I've seen on STJ. Not even a road to cros...

Re: 9 Days on STJ...Coral Bay, The Swell and Hansen
Question about Thalia and Dunia's spot....how do you get there exactly? Is it before/after Vie's? How is that beach as far as friendly for families? Our kids are 9/6/1.5. Would definitely want a non-North Shore option in the event that the swells pick up and Salt Pond is a little bit of a hike with ...

Re: Excursion with kids
We had the same experiences as PA Girl - we took our 4 year old to the BVIs with Captain John (RIP) and Captain Phil. My boys were 2/3 and 5/6 on those trips. Our trip with Capt John started at 3 Ball Reef as well, which is calm, not crowded and on the way to the BVIs. We then went to Norman Island ...

Re: Best options staying 1 night on STT in-bound to STJ?
We are staying for the first time at Emerald Beach - can someone give me a little more detail about the walk? My kids are 9, 6 and 1.5. The little one would be in a stroller or backpack carrier. Is the walk doable for young kids? And is a taxi even an option going that short a trip? Is there any wal...
