I just thought they were trying to sell. Clearly I'm missing some of the story here. TT will be missed.

Re: Cancun for spring break

Believe you me, I was very well aware of the temperature differential between VT and Isla Mujeres last winter. I felt like the smartest cookie around for escaping the Northeast for a couple of months. Having never stayed in Cancun I can't really compare it to Isla. Since you mention that STJ wasn't ...

Re: Cancun for spring break

Hi Shoe. I noticed that you had a topic on the Tripadvisor forum for Isla Mujeres. I spend two months of each winter on IM now, escaping the Vermont winters. I had meant to write earlier and suggest that you do a day trip to IM but it sounds like that may already be a plan. Rent a golf cart (or my p...

Re: A Long Air Travel Rant

As a fellow Vermontser, I feel your pain. That may be why in our 10 trips to STJ, we've never actually flown out of BTV. The first time was non-stop from JFK, and all the rest were either BOS or BDL. I would rather drive 3 to 6 hours to hopefully insure decent connections and airfares, than deal wi...

Re: Another flight question

Is JFK an option? Maybe drive up the night before and spend the night in a Park/Sleep/Fly hotel. This fare is for a non-stop flight. http://i60.tinypic.com/10e1p3d.png We've been known to drive anywhere from 3 hours to 6 hours to get decent flights. A matter of fact, in our nine trips to STJ, we've...

Re: Apartment review needed /. B b September travel

I'm looking at the same property for a budget trip in December. I was pleased with the quick response through the VRBO link. We're leaning towards booking there; unfortunately I won't be able to tell you about our experience until after your planned trip.

Re: Help, she hates the water!!

OMG... I just noticed I typed "Watermelon" instead of "Waterlemon". What a rookie mistake. Next thing you know I'll be saying St. John's and Rams Head (which I'll point out is one of my pet peeves, because it's Ram Head.) OK... good luck with your friend. I hope it all works out...

Re: Help, she hates the water!!

Well, if she is a bit athletic, you could arm her with a Trail Bandit map http://www.trailbandit.org , and she could hike to her heart's content. You could plan your beaches based on where she would be hiking, ie: you hang at Salt Pond, and she can hike over to Drunk Bay and out to Ram Head. You go...

Re: Thirteen more days in paradise, final

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your reports are the best. Interestingly enough, we never eat anything fancy while on STJ, but I thoroughly enjoy reading about your dining exploits. I guess for me, the vicarious experience is just better than doing it in person. Hard to believe that you have anoth...

Re: Must try restaurants???

I love Oasis for take-outs to bring back to the villa. It's home-cooking without having to shop and cook! Follow their facebook page for their daily menu. http://www.facebook.com/coralbayoasis The portions are huge, so pick a few mains, and some sides, and serve family style. You do not need a main...

Just here for 2 nights - we were on St. Thomas for Thanksgiving with family - leaving tomorrow! It was too short but we'll be back more often in the future I hope.
Ah... for a moment I thought my path would cross with the famous Anthony!
