STT to STJ Car Barge Update
Happy Holidays all. We're landing at 3:30 in STT on Thursday the 29th. Just wanted to get some insight on the car barge situation at present, and if it's improved since a couple weeks ago. Every year prior we've had no issue, but it sounds like a confluence of issues could make it more challenging t...

La Mer?
Has anyone stayed at La Mer, the four bedroom on Bourdeaux? I'm close to booking Great Turtle Villa, but Laura from Destination St. John just showed me this house. It seems incredible, and she says the views are to die for, but the photos of the inside of the house are a bit grainy. The description ...

I think we're leaning toward Great Turtle Villa right now. I wish we had more photos to go on, as well as a better idea of exactly where in Carolina it's located, but it seems like a great place and we love the views of Coral Bay. Any other places under $3500 for the week that you could recommend fo...

I'm not great with measurements, but I'd say Doug and Sharon's house is at least a couple hundred feet down the dirt road that Orion's Hill sits on. You're well separated from them by hedges, trees and so on; it never felt like our privacy had been compromised. To the contrary, it felt good to know ...

My family and I stayed here over the summer. It's incredible. This was our first trip to St. John and the only reason we're not going back is because our party size has increased. The villa is beautiful, and I'll never forget the views. The owners live next door, and they may be the nicest people we...

I know exactly what you mean. Orion's Hill, where we stayed our first time, had unbelievable views, 360 degrees in some spots, and just stunning looks at the hills, east end and Coral Bay. Having read your review of Mayan Sky, Maryann, I feel like the views might be a bit of a let down from last sum...

Mayan Sky vs. Great Turtle Villa vs. White Cottage - Help!
So, unless we win lotto, Sol Inclination is out of the question this go around. It's between these three * Mayan Sky *, * Great Turtle Villa * and * White Cottage *. I love Mayan Sky for the house and the views. The views of Great Turtle look a bit more dramatic, but perhaps at a cost of furnishings...

South Shore Villa Feedback? Locked Rooms? Help!
Anybody stayed at South Shore Villa? It looks amazing. How are the views? On the Seaview Homes website it says that "unused bedrooms" will remain locked for the visit. Such a lame thing, to begin with. But do we get to at least choose the bedroom that we want locked, since we'll only be us...

Need Everyone's Villa Advice... So Appreciated
So we're looking to book another trip to St. John in July. This past summer, our first time there, we stayed in Orion's Hill and it was absolutely incredible. Anybody considering staying there absolutely should. It's just outrageous. The views, the house, everything. Since we're returning to St. Joh...

Fishing from the Beaches on St. John?
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me some of the specific regulations about fishing from shore or surf casting on St. John. We had a great time in Sanibel, FL a couple years ago walking out a bit into the water (and away from swimmers, of course) and fishi...

Summer Airfare from NYC
I have a quick question regarding airfare from New York this summer. My group of 5 will be on St. John from July 15-23. I have noticed a pattern of airafres being lowest about 2 months prior to travel--for example, USAirways tickets for May 6-14 come in at $346 on Kayak right now, and in December, t...
