what can we bring with us?
Can we purchase beer and rum at the duty free shops in St. Thomas and bring it with us on the ferry to Virgin Gorda? Also, are we allowed to bring frozen steaks to Virgin Gorda from home?

Re: Snorkeling on St Croix
We have not yet visited St Croix yet love snorkeling. While investigating a possible trip to STX we were informed that the coral on the windward side of Bucks island was rather beaten up by past storms but the leeward side was pretty good. We found this to be true on our trip to Bonaire when we sail...

Re: Pics from recent Virgin Gorda trip
No, we don't have housings for our D10s. Fortunately, we've never had a problem with leakage. Maybe we've just been lucky - but we are VERY careful about soaking them in fresh water after every use, and always disconnect the wrist strap, and soak that unattached. And, of course, are very careful abo...

Re: Trip report Virgin Gorda 4/23 - May 1st.
Hi Jersey Girl - Thank you for your reply. We were on Bonaire the last 2 weeks of March this year. When were you there? Thanks to you, now I'm really starting to get really excited about possibly vacationing 1 week STJ and 1 week VG! Sadly, it's getting harder and harder to find islands with healthy...

Re: Trip report Virgin Gorda 4/23 - May 1st.
Thank you for your great trip report. We too are STJ lovers, but are thinking about a combined STJ and Virgin Gorda trip - 1 week at each - next March. This would be our first trip to Virgin Gorda. How healthy is the coral on Virgin Gorda? Seeing pretty coral is important to my hubby. Did you see an...

Re: Anguilla, Bonaire - other?
Thank you for starting this thread. Of course we LOVE STJ - but we, too, are looking for a new island to explore. We are avid snorkelers - not divers. We have been to Roatan twice. The snorkeling there is very good - beautiful, healthy coral and lots of sea critters. There is a lot of drug trafficin...

Re: High season advice for babymoon!
If there isn't a rental car available on STJ, perhaps you could rent one on STT and ferry it over. We've done this before - without a problem.

1* - You are back at home driving, come across a road sign that says "dip" and instantly think "clam".

Re: Showing that you are a forumite
You know...it would behoove any business on the rock to offer discounts or samplings to those wearing the bracelets. It would return free acknowledgement and encouragement to the forumites to frequent their establishments. Just sayin'.
