Here's a link to a Chicken and Wild Rice soup that I make often: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Creamy-Chicken-and-Wild-Rice-Soup/Detail.aspx I'm giving the link so you can modify how many servings you want to make. (I add sauteed, minced carrot, celery and onion, a couple tablespoons of white wine, a...

Re: Cruz Bay Dining map - is LIVE!!
Why not ask for recent feedback from visitors? That might give you a starting point. The newer place that we visited last May and loved was Island Breeze. The chef is from Caneel and cooks some fabulous local food. We had a huge absolutely scrumptious meal here, and this would be my new STJ favorite!

Re: St. Thomas beach
Looks from aerial view that there is a good rock field there to right, and then a reef just beyond! Can a car make it to this beach? We haven't been to this one yet. We're coming down in April and looking for new "adventures!"

Re: Cinnamon Bay Kayak questions
Here's a copy and paste with some times listed, from an old post: I'm excited to be able to answer a "regular's" question! We did the trip last visit, in late October. $45 for 1/2 day tandem kayak rental. The watersports office opens at 10am. You need a credit card for deposit. We didn't h...

Re: Cinnamon Bay Kayak questions
Well, it's likely that we putzed around.... I'd say 20 minutes or so? Both times we did it from Maho, we rented for 1/2 day and were able to paddle over, snorkel at Whistling Cay, paddle to Mary's Point and snorkel, eat lunch, and then paddle back, in the allotted time. I'm guessing we had the kayak...

Re: Packing List
Chargers for your electronics are REALLY expensive at airports. I learned the hard way. I also always bring an extension cord.

Re: Cinnamon Bay Kayak questions
We rented kayaks a Maho a couple of times, and went out to Whistling Cay. I'm sorry I can't help you with Cinnamon rental specific information, but I can tell you that the Maho people directed us to paddle to what would be the right side of Francis Bay, and then head toward Whistling Cay (rather tha...

Another vote for Coral Bay Caribbean Oasis! Yummmmy! If you're there on Tuesday, be sure to check their menu for it, and get there early - Chicken fried chicken with honey pecan sauce is my favorite, and often offered on Tuesdays!

Re: Best options staying 1 night on STT in-bound to STJ?
I like Bunker Hill Hotel on STT, in Charlotte Amalie. I've stayed there twice now. Small place, very quaint, clean and safe. There is a good restaurant on site, for dinner and drinks - Sugarcane Grille. They also serve free hot breakfast. The price is FABULOUS, and the people who run the place are a...

Alice by the Sea - my review
Our group of friends had the pleasure of spending a week at Alice by the Sea, in early November. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this villa - it is so very lovely, comfortable, and stocked with every possible amenity!!! The location of Alice, on the quiet side of the island, in Coral Bay...

Re: A few photos while waiting at the airport
Thought Toni's photos post would be a good place to put this! Toni and her hubby, Blaine and I, and my good friend/part time roommate were all on this great trip: Apparently, I still haven't learned to write a short trip report! We had several terrific STJ "firsts," on our recent trip, so ...
