package receiving service????

I'm heading down in October and was wondering if there was a package receiving service in St. Thomas that would accept and hold a package for me (priority mail box). On St. John there is Connections. Is there something similar on STT? My ultimate destination is Tortola and shipping the package there...

I'm sure you have already sent your deposit. But, just to add what others have said....I stayed there in June and the villa was great. I don't recall any road noise at all. Have a great trip!

Shipping spray on sunscreen

I purchased a few items today to ship down for my upcoming trip in June....sunscreen, insect repellant, etc. I purchased some spray on sunscreen and my wife just informed me that she didn't think I could ship it because it is considered an aerosol. In the past, we have flown with it in our checked l...

The video was great. Last year, we stayed right below and to the left of you in a villa called "Island Horizons". That view is mesmerizing.

Sorry, Rick. I'm not sure if our stories are related, but I was referring to the public beach, not the campground. I tried to post the link, but was unsuccessful. If you pull up the STJ Tradewinds page it is the second story.

Maho Bay Construction

I just read in STJ Tradewinds that work was beginning at Maho Bay to demolish the old pavilion and construct a new picnic-pavilion-restroom facility. It is supposed to last 120 days and cost just under $500,000 :shock: ! Personally, I like Maho just the way it is. I wonder how disruptive the work wi...

Yes, there was a path down to Hart Bay. We did hike down there once and did some beachcombing. It is certainly not a swimming beach....no good entry point and the surf was too rough. They say the snorkeling is fantastic if you catch a really calm day.

I stayed at Dolphin Run in June '09. We chose it because of its location and price. There is a lot to love about this villa: great views, sound of the waves, good breezes and a nice pool. However, when we stayed the villa was showing its age. The furniture and appliances are little "tired"...

The backpack cooler seems like a great idea. The villas we rent never seem to have the "perfect" size cooler. Either very large or the 6 pack variety. I have purchased a couple over the years while on island and donated them to the villa. JJShaw, which one of the coolers on that site do yo...

I'm going in June also. I booked the villa and jeep rental, but decided to wait (gamble) on the air. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore...too nervous. I ended up switching my departure date to Thursday instead of Friday. I was able to get a US Airways flight from St Louis to St Thomas via Charlotte...

Here is my recipe: First, buy a gallon of orange juice. Pour half of it in a pitcher to drink for breakfast. Fill the rest of the gallon with pineapple juice. Pour in some grenadine to give it that reddish/orange color. Shake well...this your your mix. Take a glass with ice and pour 2 fingers (or mo...

54b, My situation is the exact opposite of yours. My wife and I are taking our 5th trip down in June and it will be our first trip WITHOUT our daughter. She is now 10, but she is still a little upset that she is not going. All of our previous trips were great. You will spend a lot of time entertaini...

Whassup Mahojim! My wife and I normally do the dinghy thing :lol: We have not been on the cover of "Muscle and Fitness"....too many Presidente's! I use my fins to propel me into the dinghy...not real graceful, but works. Then I use my superior upper body strength to pull my wife in the boa...

My wife and I always do carry-on. My problem is I refuse to rent fins because of ill-fit and the short one's just don't work for me. So, I purchased a simple mesh "backpack" style snorkel bag to carry our fins. This is my "personal" item and fits nicely under the seat.

I can vouch for the Canon D10. I have used it on my last 2 trips and it takes some amazing pictures. Perfect for snorkeling. The topside photos are great too. Just make sure you soak it in fresh water when you return to the villa to dissolve any salt residue.
